Youth on Course, in collaboration with the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA), is set to bolster the AJGA’s Day in a Life program by supporting five events in 2024.

This strategic partnership aims to introduce young golf enthusiasts to diverse career avenues within the golf industry.

The Day in a Life Program, launched by the AJGA in 2019, offers participants firsthand experience in various facets of the golf sector, including Tournament Administration, Operations, and Communications.

By witnessing top junior golfers in action during AJGA tournaments, participants gain invaluable insights into the inner workings of the golf industry.

Stephen Hamblin, Executive Director of the AJGA, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, emphasizing its role in nurturing the aspirations of young golfers.

He stated, “Partnering with Youth on Course exemplifies our dedication to enriching the lives of young golfers through the Day in a Life program. We’re not just providing opportunities; we’re igniting a pathway to success.”

In 2023, the Day in a Life program attracted over 115 participants across 17 AJGA tournaments, with support from esteemed organisations like the First Tee, PGA Junior League, and the Cameron Champ Foundation.

With the inclusion of Youth on Course in 2024, the AJGA anticipates a broader reach and increased impact.

Michael Lowe, Vice President of Programs at Youth on Course, highlighted the transformative potential of golf in shaping young lives.

He remarked, “Whether it’s competing in elite tournaments or carving a career in the game, golf has a special ability to change the course of a young person’s life.”

Youth on Course will lend its support to five AJGA events in 2024, including the Sacramento Junior Championship, Colorado Spring Junior, Vaughn Taylor Championship presented by James Hardie, RLX Ralph Lauren Junior Classic, and HV3 Foundation Junior Championship.

These tournaments, hosted at affiliate courses of the Youth on Course program, facilitate affordable access to golf for young enthusiasts, aiming to eliminate financial barriers.

Participants in the Day in a Life Program can anticipate a comprehensive learning experience, encompassing the AJGA’s history, mission, programs, and sponsors.

Additionally, they will delve into crucial aspects of golf course management, pace of play, rules officiating, and more.

This collaborative endeavour between the AJGA and Youth on Course endeavours to showcase the diverse career opportunities available within the golf industry’s business realm.

In conclusion, the partnership between Youth on Course and the AJGA heralds a new era of opportunity and exploration for aspiring young golfers.

By bridging the gap between passion and profession, this collaboration seeks to empower the next generation of leaders in the golfing world.
