LIV Golf Virginia will tee it up June 6-8 at northern Virginia’s storied Robert Trent Jones Golf Club, and if that date isn’t already inked onto your 2025 planner, fetch a Sharpie—quick.
In shedding its former “DC” badge and embracing the Commonwealth’s flag, the tour’s eighth stop becomes LIV Golf Virginia presented by Maaden, a name change that feels as smooth as a well-struck draw into the club’s infamous par-3 ninth.
A fresh badge, same swagger
“With LIV Golf Virginia presented by Maaden, we’re strengthening our connection to the Commonwealth and celebrating the local pride that drives this world-class event,” said Ross Hallett, LIV Golf Executive Vice President and Head of Events. “This evolution reflects our mission of bringing bold energy, global vision, and an unforgettable next-gen fan experience to every stop on our schedule.”
Translation: Imagine the Presidents Cup’s old clubhouse suddenly kitted out with laser shows, thumping music, and Bryson DeChambeau swinging like he’s trying to unearth core samples. That’s the vibe LIV is promising.
Virginia rolls out the tartan picnic blanket
“We are excited to welcome LIV Golf to Virginia’s iconic Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in June,” said Rita McClenny, President and CEO of Virginia Tourism Corporation.
“Major sporting events like this shine a global spotlight on Virginia as a premier destination for world-class competition and unforgettable visitor experiences paired with gorgeous landscapes, luxury offerings, deep-rooted American history, and so much more.
We look forward to showing players, fans, and visitors from around the world that Virginia is for Golf Lovers!”
Robert Trent Jones GC—host of the first four U.S.-based Presidents Cups and last September’s Solheim Cup—knows how to set a global table.
Now it gets LIV’s shotgun-start buffet of 54-hole fireworks, 14 major champions, and a stable of headline-grabbers from Jon Rahm to Phil Mickelson.
Maaden digs in: “Unearth Your Potential”
Beyond the tee sheet, presenting partner Maaden is rolling out a campaign with a title so on-brand a geologist must have coined it: “Unearth Your Potential”.
Picture Bryson, Sergio Garcia, and Carlos Ortiz duking it out in a closest-to-the-pin contest—strategy, teamwork, and gallery-pleasing mischief all bundled into a slick trailer (link in the usual places).
“LIV Golf Virginia presented by Maaden is more than a tournament – it’s a powerful expression of global collaboration and shared ambition.
Our partnership with LIV Golf reflects a mutual drive to innovate, inspire and shape what’s next, both on the course and far beyond it,” said Bob Wilt, CEO at Maaden.
Expect bold branding, immersive fan zones, and hospitality suites where the hors d’oeuvres could double as museum pieces.
If LIV’s previous stops are any indication, the only thing louder than the DJ may be Brooks Koepka’s driver.
What fans can expect at LIV Golf Virginia

- 54 holes, no cut: every star on stage until the last putt drops.
- Team leaderboard meets individual chase: Rahm’s Legion XIII, DeChambeau’s Crushers, and Smith’s Ripper GC jostle for bragging rights.
- Festival feel: live music, digital engagement, and enough merch to fill a tour van.
- Unrivalled access: think greenside viewing platforms and player walk-throughs that make the ropes look purely decorative.
Hospitality and grounds passes are on sale now at LIVGolf.com (or fire a note to [email protected] if email is more your tempo).
Blink and the prime spots may vanish faster than you can say “limited field.”
Why this rebrand matters for the sport
By planting its flag as LIV Golf Virginia, the league locks onto a geo-specific identity beloved by search algorithms and locals alike.
The Commonwealth gains a marquee event that meshes heritage with the sport’s shape-shifting future, while LIV adds another jewel to its globe-trotting crown.
Whether you’re chasing ranking points, autograph ink, or the perfect Instagram reel, LIV Golf Virginia promises to serve it with a side of rock-and-roll spectacle.
And if history is any guide, the only thing higher than Bryson’s ball flight might be the decibel level come Sunday evening.
