Former Masters Champion Danny Willett is gearing up for a significant comeback at the Betfred British Masters hosted by Sir Nick Faldo, scheduled to take place at The Belfry from August 29 to September 1, 2024.

After a hiatus of over six months due to reconstructive shoulder surgery, Willett recently made a remarkable return to tournament golf at Augusta National, where he made the cut in his first start back.

Willett’s participation adds star power to the event, especially after his noteworthy performance at Augusta.

He became the first English player since Sir Nick Faldo himself to don the prestigious Green Jacket in 1996. Despite challenging scoring conditions, Willett showcased his class with an impressive round of 68, followed by consistent play throughout the tournament.

Excited about his return to competitive golf, Willett expressed his anticipation for the Betfred British Masters, particularly at the iconic venue of The Belfry.

As an eight-time DP World Tour winner with two Rolex Series titles, Willett looks forward to competing in his home country after a prolonged absence from the game.

“It’s always exciting to have the chance to peg it up at The Belfry, so I’m really looking forward to heading back there in August,” Willett remarked.

“It’s relatively local to where I’m from in England and it is such an iconic venue with so much history associated with it.”

Reflecting on his recent performance at Augusta, Willett sees his return to tournament golf as a significant milestone in his recovery journey.

“Hopefully, I’ll be in good shape by the time the Betfred British Masters comes around, so I’m looking forward to seeing everyone there for what should be another great week,” he added.

The Betfred British Masters hosted by Sir Nick Faldo holds special significance in the DP World Tour calendar, marking the 21st event held at The Belfry.

With a rich history dating back to the days of the Lada English Golf Classic, won by the legendary Seve Ballesteros, The Belfry continues to captivate golf enthusiasts worldwide.

Don’t miss the chance to be part of this prestigious event and witness Danny Willett’s Major comeback at The Belfry.
