Lottie Woad has already turned a fair share of heads on the fairways, and her name continues to gain momentum with each passing tournament.
The Augusta National Women’s Amateur champion, Smyth Salver winner, and integral member of the victorious Curtis Cup team has aligned with FootJoy.
Currently sitting atop the World Amateur Golf Rankings, the English star will sport FootJoy gear all through 2025—though her collegiate events will be the lone exception.
In a sport where consistency and reliability mean everything, Lottie Woad seems right at home with a brand renowned for equipment that has seen countless professionals and amateurs reach new heights. And when asked about her latest partnership, she didn’t hold back:
“I wanted to partner with FootJoy because it is a brand I know and trust,” said Woad.
“I have played in FJ for years through England Golf and other opportunities, so it’s equipment I am very confident in.
“Footwear is especially important to me because I spend so much time in golf shoes that they need to be comfortable but above all, perform well.”
To be fair, comfort is no small feat when hours spent on the course start early and finish late.
But for the player who claimed the Mark H. McCormack Medal and notched a top-10 finish at the AIG Women’s Open at St Andrews, attention to detail is everything.
Her 2024 run underscores that the English golfer is on a mission, one that she hopes to continue with FootJoy supporting her along the way.
A few months ago, the 20-year-old took part in an in-depth shoe fitting and testing process with FootJoy’s team at the Titleist Performance Centre at Woburn.
This wasn’t your average “try a pair on and go” situation—Woad took a deep dive into analyzing models, sizes, and overall comfort to match the demands of her powerful game.
“I had my first proper shoe fitting a couple of weeks ago and led to me changing my shoe size from a UK6M to a UK5M. Like when you go and get fitted for golf clubs, I think it is just as important for golfers to go and get fitted for golf shoes if you want maximise performance on the course.
“It was a great experience to try on all the different models within the FootJoy range but also being able to hit shots in them has given me the confidence going forward that I am wearing the correct golf shoes.
“The style that performed the best for me were the Premiere Series. The blucher lacing gave me more space in the upper part of the shoe, providing comfort and stability when rotating through to my left side, so I am able generate that power.”
Clearly, FootJoy earned Woad’s trust not by chance but through a rigorous fitting procedure.
The brand itself has compiled quite a record on Tour, with names such as Justin Thomas, Lilia Vu, and Billy Horschel all choosing FootJoy from tee to green.
Across the 2023/24 season on the DP World and Ladies European Tours, there were a combined 29 victories for FootJoy shoe wearers, and 58% of fields on those tours laced up a pair of FJs—more than every other shoe brand combined.
Lottie Woad now joins that select group of elite pros and amateurs who walk the course in FootJoy.
For Woad, the union of comfort, stability, and performance speaks volumes. Her top finishes reflect how each part of her equipment has played a role in shaping her consistent success.
With a budding collegiate career, a Curtis Cup victory, and accolades like the Smyth Salver, Lottie Woad’s amateur résumé gleams with achievement. Her partnership with FootJoy marks another step in a journey that shows no signs of losing momentum.
Golf is always a stage for rising stars, and Lottie Woad is making it clear she’s ready to take her place among the sport’s elite.
Whether she’s standing on the first tee at Augusta National, adding hardware to her trophy case, or dialling in the perfect shoe fit, Woad’s precision and focus are unmistakable.
Backing her every step is FootJoy, providing the comfort and confidence she needs to stay locked in on her mission: elevating her game and climbing the ladder in amateur golf, with a professional career firmly in sight.
