Women in Golf Awards: Celebrating Achievement in the Sport

Foxhills Golf and Country Club

Come November 28th, 2024, the prestigious grounds of Foxhills in Surrey will play host to a landmark event: the third annual Women in Golf Awards.

Nestled in the heart of Surrey’s verdant landscape, Foxhills isn’t just a venue; it’s a beacon of progressiveness and inclusivity in the world of golf.

This year, the awards ceremony promises to be bigger and better than ever, having moved to a winter date and a larger venue to accommodate a growing number of attendees eager to celebrate the achievements of women in golf.

“After a wonderful event last year, we were keen to find a host venue that shares similar values to our own,” comments co-founder of The Women in Golf Awards, Nicole Wheatley.

“The team at Foxhills have been incredibly engaged and excited about the awards since our very first conversation.”

“We know how much this event means to the attendees, nominees and our partners, and I am confident that we will create something very special together.”

Central to the ethos of the Women in Golf Awards is the Women in Golf Fund, bolstered by generous contributions from partners.

This fund ensures that women working within the golf industry have access to free tickets, democratising attendance and fostering a community of support.

Additionally, for the first time, subsidized tickets will be available for purchase later in the year, broadening access to this prestigious gathering.

Marcus Weatherburn, Membership Manager at Foxhills, underscored the club’s commitment to empowering female golfers and staff alike.

“We’re beyond thrilled to be able to host the annual Women in Golf Awards,”

“As a club we currently have several fantastic initiatives running to encourage female golfers to a) start the game b) to progress, learn and develop and c) to be able to perform at the highest level across the world.”

“We are also incredibly proud to support our female staff in their careers.  Our Country Club model really is a unique environment – we’re pleased of where we are as a club to date, but the hard work will continue.”

As in previous years, thanks to the Women in Golf Fund, which is supported by the awards partners, there will be a number of free tickets available to women working in the industry.

These are allocated via a ballot accessed through the website www.womeningolfawards.co.uk

For the first time, there will also be a limited number of heavily subsidized tickets available to purchase later in the year.

The 2024 sponsors and awards categories will be announced at the end of July with nominations open from Mid-August.

Jeremey Tomlinson, Chief Executive Officer of England Golf commented, “We are really excited to be supporting the Women in Golf Awards again, this event is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate women in golf trailblazers!”

As preparations ramp up for the Women in Golf Awards at Foxhills, all eyes are on the horizon for further announcements and the unfolding of yet another remarkable chapter in celebrating women’s contributions to golf.

Stay tuned as they prepare to tee off this extraordinary event in style, embracing excellence and inclusivity with every swing.

About the Women in Golf Awards

The Women in Golf Awards is an annual event celebrating the significant contribution that women, past and present, continue to make to the golf industry.

The event was established by Nicole Wheatley and Ben Blackburn whose combined experience in the golf world led them to identify a need to create a platform that would connect, celebrate and inspire the industry.

The Awards bring together women at all stages of their careers, from every sector, showing the diverse nature of the roles women hold in the industry.
