TRUE Linkswear Launches Lux2 Maven and Player: Spiked Golf Shoes with Tour-Level Performance

TRUE Linkswear’s Lux2 Maven and Player spiked golf shoes have finally marched out of the design studio and onto the tee box, carrying the swagger of a Tour veteran and the polish of a couture runway.

After three years of tinkering, testing, and tearing up prototypes, the Pacific Northwest brand has unleashed a spiked double act—Maven and Player—aimed squarely at golfers who demand comfort with a haute-performance attitude.

A catwalk-ready performance pivot

“The Lux2 is a performance shoe like we’ve never offered before,” said TRUE Linkswear Co-Founder and Partner Jason Moore.

“Our roster of Team TRUE Tour players has had a really keen interest in seeing what a TRUE linkswear spiked golf shoe built for the ultra-high-performance athlete would look like.

We knew from Tour player feedback, this release had to be a comfortable, low profile, flexible, but stable shoe that incorporates a spiked sole that supports their movement when it matters on the golf course.”

We spent almost three years and probably seven different design iterations before we created a shoe we love because it is revolutionary in comfort and performance.

Consider this the moment spikes became chic. Lux2’s design language borrows equal parts from precision-engineered marathon flats and a Savile Row brogue—resulting in footwear that can handle sideways rain at St Andrews yet still turn heads in the clubhouse grille.

Maven: the power broker

Developed hand-in-glove with TRUE’s Tour ambassadors, the Lux2 Maven is the show pony that also hauls freight.

Its signature trick is the FlexBolt outsole—a lightning-shaped cut-out that slashes weight and juices lateral flex, keeping a golfer grounded through high-octane swings.

Beneath the Napa-leather upper lies a flexible carbon-fibre ground-force reaction plate, the same tech rewriting distance-running record books.

Moore frames it this way: “In recent times, we’ve seen marathon records broken year after year. A lot of that can be attributed to carbon fibre inserts in the shoes.

That sole insert technology translates not only to energy return in your walking stride and reducing fatigue, but it also can help with ground force reaction.

With a stable, low-profile base, that you can actually drive your power into and have it return from the ground, adding the carbon fire plate adds propulsion to that movement.

Based on what we’ve seen from Tour players, we’re seeing a notable improvement in results from this new Lux2 spiked shoe design.”

Throw in the Wanderlux2 superfoam midsole and a breezeway heel-lock system, and you have a $319 spike that might just talk you into playing 36.

Maven at a glance

  • TRUE FlexBolt spiked outsole
  • Full-length carbon-fibre reaction plate
  • Wanderlux2 high-rebound midsole
  • Supple top-grain Napa leather upper
  • Two-year waterproof bootie construction
  • Men’s US sizes 7–15 in Tradition White, Heritage Black, and Charge White

Player: the comfort-first chameleon

If Maven is runway glam, Lux2 Player is the backstage pass—same star quality, but dressed for the long haul.

TRUE calls it the “unicorn” shoe: naturally wide, relentlessly comfortable, yet fully spiked thanks to the next-gen FlexBolt outsole tuned for medial-lateral stability.

“A round of golf can be seven miles walking up and down hills, sometimes in wet conditions.

So, the mountaineering side of our tread is definitely something that helps you with uphill and downhill ascent as you’re walking.

We also have rotational tread and the spikes definitely play a part in that tread pattern. The TPU spikes and the rubber tread can interact with surfaces differently.

One’s phenomenal for wet grass and the other one’s better for turf and grip of the Earth.

So, we’re excited to team up the two for optimal traction on the golf course,” Moore said.

Player swaps leather for TRUEdura—a laminated, waterproof textile that breathes on humid summer afternoons and shrugs off downpours.

At $219, it’s poised to become the everyday go-to when “Saturday casual” meets “Sunday medal play.”

Player checklist

Spiked traction, reinvented

Both Lux2 models share a mountaineering-inspired tread pattern partnered with removable Soft Spikes.

The hybrid design grips like crampons on slick slopes yet rolls smoothly on cart paths—ideal for hill-heavy tracks and shoulder-season mush.

Style meets substance

Whether you favour Maven’s carbon-fuelled pop or Player’s cloud-like ride, TRUE Linkswear’s Lux2 golf shoes deliver the kind of sartorial sizzle and swing-studio science that can’t be faked.

Slip them on and you may find yourself striding down the fairway with an ireverent grin and an unwavering confidence.
