Navigating the lush, unforgiving greens of the golf world, Danish sensation Jakob Skov Olesen has emerged as a beacon for aspiring golfers, proving his mettle by clinching The Amateur Championship and slicing through the weekend cut at The Open at Royal Troon.
At the tender age of 25, Olesen is now setting his sights on the picturesque yet challenging Black Mountain Championship in Thailand, a standout event in The International Series promoted by LIV Golf.

Olesen, an alumnus of the University of Arkansas, is keeping his tee options wide open with Q School looming on multiple tour horizons.
Yet, the lure of the Asian Tour is strong, inspired by trailblazers like Andy Ogletree, who vaulted into the LIV Golf League spotlight by topping The International Series Rankings in 2023.
“The exemption I received for The International Series next year, thanks to my victory at The Amateur Championship, opens up a significant avenue for me,” Olesen shared, his eyes alight with the possibility.
“Iโm also eyeing the DP World and PGA Tour Q Schools, which is fantastic to have as options.”

“Hearing success stories from peers makes this path even more enticing. I anticipate weโll see a growing influx of players from both America and Europe.”
The upcoming Black Mountain Championship, scheduled for 17-20 October at the scenic Black Mountain Golf Club in Hua Hin, Thailand, will feature not only Olesen but other emerging talents like Mexicoโs Santiago De La Fuente and Chinaโs Sampson Zheng, both of whom are creating ripples in the amateur golfing scene.
