TaylorMade Golf Signs English Amateur Starlet Kris Kim on NIL Agreement

TaylorMade Golf has signed teenage English amateur golfer Kris Kim on a Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) agreement.

This partnership marks a significant step in Kim’s young career as he prepares for his first professional event at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson on the PGA TOUR where he will be using 14 TaylorMade clubs and the company’s TP5 golf ball.

Kim’s golfing journey has been supported by his mother, former LPGA player Ji-Hyun Suh, and the non-profit Golfing4Life, which aims to nurture young golf talent.

Despite being an elite golfer, Kim is also balancing his education, completing his GCSEs, and showcasing his dedication and organizational skills.

With a handicap of +6, Kim’s recent achievements in 2023 are remarkable, including wins at the Fairhaven Trophy, McGregor Trophy, British Boys, and European Boys Championship, where he set a new course record.

He was also part of the European Junior Ryder Cup team, scoring 3.5 out of 4 points, including a victory over fellow TaylorMade member Miles Russell.

His success continues into the 2024 season, as he’s selected to represent the England Men’s team in the Nations Cup.

There is no doubt Kris is among the very best of not just young British Golfers, but junior golfers from around the World. He showed his skills on the big stage during a successful Junior Ryder Cup in 2023 which capped off a very dominant year in junior golf for him. We at TaylorMade are all about using our equipment expertise to help nurture young talented golfers like Kris as they develop skill, speed and power at an increasingly young age and fast pace. We are thrilled to see his success to date and that he continues to put his trust in us and our products.”

Mark Thistleton – Senior Tour Representative Player Development EMEA

TaylorMade’s sports marketing team has worked closely with Kim over the past three years, fine-tuning his equipment to match his evolving ball-striking skills.

Kim’s choice of clubs reflects his preference for classic looks and lines, favouring the P·770 2i off the tee, although he switches to a rescue club depending on the course.

I have built a great relationship with Mark and the team over the past few years and am excited for what’s to come in the years ahead. TaylorMade has a high pedigree and eye an for developing future stars, helping them to become PGA TOUR and major championship winners. I am looking forward to working with the team and reaching the goals I have set out for my career.

His preferred golf ball, the TP5, gives him the desired feel and control for optimal performance.

Overall, Kris Kim’s partnership with TaylorMade is a testament to his potential as one of the brightest young golfers globally, and his journey is one to watch.
