Expanding Versatility within the P·Series

The development teams at TaylorMade aimed to understand the demographic of golfers using utility irons for their next iteration.

Research revealed a diverse range, from skilled players to mid-handicap individuals, utilizing these clubs.

Interestingly, many of these players already favoured TaylorMade’s P·Series products for their top-end irons.

Matt Bovee, Director of Product Creation for Iron and Wedge, highlighted the seamless integration of the new utility irons into the P·Series family.

He emphasized the compatibility of the P·UDI and P·DHY with existing P·Series clubs, ensuring players receive the performance they desire in this category.

Tour-Inspired Design

The P·UDI and P·DHY boast modern aesthetics with a pearl satin finish and a striking black ridge across the middle.

Their design aligns seamlessly with other P·Series irons, catering to the discerning eye of accomplished players.

Drawing inspiration from Tour feedback, the shaping of the P·UDI aims to instill confidence and ease of play.

Distinguishing Features

The P·UDI features a moderately narrow sole, with a compact head size reminiscent of traditional irons.

It offers an alternative option for long irons compared to other P·Series products like the P·790.

In contrast, the P·DHY provides enhanced forgiveness with a wider sole and a more forgiving profile, suitable for players of all skill levels.

As we look to the future, beyond the tech and the design language, we are excited about repositioning our utility irons into the P·Series family. P·UDI is an easy pair for players that currently play P·Series product and P·DHY is an extremely forgiving option for players of all skill levels. It is a natural fit to give these players the performance in this category that they are looking for.

Performance Distinctions

Distinguishing between the P·UDI and P·DHY lies in their center of gravity (CG) positions.
