Simon Mees Takes the Helm at Ba Na Hills Golf Club, Ushering in a New Era for Central Vietnam’s Golf Scene

There’s a fresh buzz at Ba Na Hills Golf Club, and it’s got a name: Simon Mees.

The newly appointed general manager isn’t just here to run the show; he’s here to set the stage for Ba Na Hills and Central Vietnam to become Asia’s ultimate golf hotspot.

With more than 30 years of experience, Simon’s journey spans from the legendary courses of Scotland—where golf is practically a religion—to world-class clubs in the Middle East and Thailand.

His resume is a who’s-who of the global golf scene, featuring places like Pineapple Valley Golf Club and Aquella Golf & Country Club in Thailand, Greg Norman’s KN Golf Links Cam Ranh in Vietnam, and Al Hamra Golf Club in the UAE.

Simon’s leadership style is as versatile as his career, blending international expertise with a deep understanding of what makes a club thrive.

And now, he’s bringing that know-how to Ba Na Hills Golf Club—a course already famous for its stunning design by Ryder Cup legend Luke Donald.

“I’m thrilled to be here,” Simon says. “Ba Na Hills Golf Club has a reputation as one of the best in Vietnam, and I’m excited to work with the team to make it even better. We’re all about creating unforgettable experiences for our guests.”

The club, operated by IMG, is perched in the rolling mountains of Central Vietnam, offering spectacular views and an award-winning layout that’s as challenging as it is beautiful.

It’s a golfer’s paradise, and Simon is determined to make sure everyone knows it.

But Simon’s vision goes beyond just Ba Na Hills. He’s got his eye on the bigger picture: putting Central Vietnam on the map as a must-visit destination for golfers worldwide.

The region already boasts designs by big names like Sir Nick Faldo at Laguna Golf Lang Co, Colin Montgomerie at Montgomerie Links, and Greg Norman. Together, these clubs are proudly branding the area as Vietnam’s “Golf Coast.”

“The momentum is incredible right now,” Simon says. “Central Vietnam is becoming one of the best golf destinations in Asia.

You’ve got a cluster of world-class courses, all within easy reach of an international airport. It’s unmatched.”

With Simon at the helm, Ba Na Hills Golf Club is poised for another standout year.

Whether you’re a pro looking for your next challenge or a weekend warrior chasing that perfect round, this club—and the region around it—is where you want to be.
