Shane Lowry Has His Eyes Set On Victory at Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship 2024

Shane Lowry is all set to make a triumphant return to the United Arab Emirates, where he’ll be swinging his clubs at the eagerly awaited Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship.

Set against the stunning backdrop of Yas Links, this event from November 7-10 marks the beginning of the DP World Tour playoffs. Lowry, who lifted the Falcon Trophy back in 2019—a precursor to his major win at The Open that year—is buzzing about his comeback.

“I’m excited to end my season in the UAE, starting with the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship at Yas Links,” Lowry shared.

“There’s a special kind of thrill returning to a place where you’ve tasted victory before, and I’m aiming to wrap up the year on a high note.”

2024 has been a standout year for Lowry, who’s nailed down 13 top-20 finishes globally, including a commendable sixth at both The 152nd Open and the US PGA Championship. Not to mention, he clinched a win at the PGA TOUR’s Zurich Classic with Rory McIlroy.

The championship is gearing up to be a cracker of an event, featuring major winners like Rory McIlroy, Justin Rose, and Adam Scott, alongside Ryder Cup mate Tommy Fleetwood.

As one of the season’s four Rolex Series events, it will host the top 70 players from the Race to Dubai Rankings, with the best 50 marching on to the season-ending DP World Tour Championship.

Other big names confirmed to play include Robert MacIntyre, last year’s Genesis Scottish Open champ and a 2023 Ryder Cup European team member, and Thriston Lawrence, who’s currently sitting pretty in second place on the Race to Dubai Rankings.

But it’s not just about the golf—Yas Links will be buzzing with activities for everyone. From children’s events to the popular Ladies’ Day and Family Day over the weekend, there’s something to keep all attendees entertained.

Golf enthusiasts can grab free General Admission tickets to catch all the action or opt for a bit of luxury with premium experiences like The Championship Chalet, which boasts a stunning view from the 18th green, or the Ticket+ for an exclusive bar vista of the ninth green and some handy priority parking.
