Saudi women golfers made a remarkable mark in the 2023 Aramco Saudi Ladies International Presented by Public Investment Fund Pro-Am, returning to Royal Greens after two years of honing their skills with Golf Saudi’s Ladies First Club.
Launched during the inaugural Aramco Saudi Ladies International in 2020, the Ladies First Club attracted over 1,000 women eager to learn golf.
The recent event saw six graduates of the Ladies First Club showcasing their talents alongside top international players.
Additionally, another six members attended the event, participating in various activities organized by Golf Saudi.
Notably, this year’s prize fund for the Aramco Saudi Ladies International equalled its male counterpart, reaching $5 million USD.
Suad Alfaisal, a member of the Ladies First Club, expressed her excitement about playing in the pro-am, highlighting the club’s role in introducing her to golf.
Alfaisal shared her gratitude for the opportunity to play alongside professionals, emphasizing the unforgettable experience it provided.
Under the guidance of Golf Saudi coaches at Riyadh Golf Club, Dirab Golf and Country Club, and Royal Greens Golf and Country Club, the ladies underwent extensive training.
Ghozlene Saki, a coach with the Ladies First Club, commended the members’ progress, emphasizing the joy of witnessing their development over the past two years.
Noah Alireza, CEO of Golf Saudi, praised the Ladies First Club as one of Saudi Arabia’s most ambitious and successful programs, aiming to expand golfing opportunities across the country.
He applauded the dedication and progress of the 12 members who participated in the event, underscoring the game’s capacity to promote physical and mental well-being.
The participation of Saudi women golfers in the Aramco Saudi Ladies International Pro-Am reflects Golf Saudi’s commitment to fostering inclusivity and accessibility within the sport, paving the way for a promising future for golf in the region.
