Ryder Cup Stars Confirmed for BMW PGA Championship as Saturday Tickets Sell Out

Nicolai Højgaard, Robert MacIntyre, Luke Donald and Sepp Straka

Victorious Ryder Cup Captain Luke Donald will be joining Nicolai Højgaard, Robert MacIntyre, and Sepp Straka as the latest Team Europe stars confirmed for the BMW PGA Championship.

This exciting news comes alongside the announcement that Saturday Ticket+ and General Admission tickets for the Rolex Series event are sold out.

These additions to the field will compete alongside defending champion Ryan Fox and other Ryder Cup teammates including Rory McIlroy, Tommy Fleetwood, Matt Fitzpatrick, Shane Lowry, and Justin Rose.

The event will be held at the iconic Wentworth Club from September 17-22. General admission tickets for Sunday are still available but selling fast, so fans are encouraged to act quickly to secure their spot.

Former World Number One, Luke Donald, returns to the prestigious Surrey venue for his 18th appearance at the BMW PGA Championship, a tournament he won back-to-back in 2011 and 2012.

Donald’s popularity soared last year when he led Team Europe to a memorable Ryder Cup victory at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club.

His success has led to his appointment for a second term as Ryder Cup Captain, aiming to emulate Tony Jacklin by securing victories both at home and away.

“The BMW PGA Championship holds a special place in my heart,” Donald expressed. “Winning in 2011 and 2012 is something I will never forget.

Playing in front of the passionate English fans, with their incredible support and the electrifying atmosphere at Wentworth, is an experience like no other.”

Robert MacIntyre will make his sixth appearance at the BMW PGA Championship, fresh off a sensational few months.

His recent victory at the 2024 RBC Canadian Open marked his first title on the PGA TOUR, followed by an emotional win in his home open earlier this month, the first Scot to do so since Colin Montgomerie in 1999.

Nicolai Højgaard returns to Wentworth after a stellar year on the DP World Tour, which included eight top-ten finishes and a first Rolex Series title at the season-ending DP World Tour Championship.

The 23-year-old Dane also impressed with a tied 16th finish in his Masters debut in April.

Sepp Straka, having enjoyed a breakout 2023, will look to build on his tied seventh finish at the US PGA Championship and his tied second at The 151st Open.

The Austrian’s debut at the BMW PGA Championship last year saw him finish in tenth place.

The BMW PGA Championship Festival of Golf, held just outside central London, attracts over 100,000 spectators annually.

Alongside world-class golf, the event features live entertainment on the Showstage and a vibrant Spectator Village atmosphere.

The G4D TOUR @ BMW PGA Championship will kick off the week with some of the best golfers with a disability competing for the penultimate G4D Tour title on the iconic West Course on September 16 and 17.

This will be followed by the star-studded Wednesday Celebrity Pro-Am featuring Hollywood actor Tom Holland and his brothers Harry and Sam, alongside global celebrities and some of golf’s most famous players.

“We are looking forward to welcoming so many fans to Wentworth Club for the BMW PGA Championship in September,” said Kit Gartrell, the DP World Tour’s Championship Director for the BMW PGA Championship.

“The tournament has certainly become a fixture in the British sporting calendar and the Festival of Golf atmosphere continues to grow, with the world-class Rolex Series event complimented by global celebrities competing in the Celebrity Pro-Am.

We also have an exciting lineup of music acts on the Showstage to announce in the coming weeks, and of course some of the world’s best golfers with a disability competing in the G4D Tour’s G4D @ BMW PGA Championship to open the week.

“General Admission and Ticket+ options for Saturday are now sold out and we have limited availability for Sunday, so to avoid disappointment we would encourage fans to get their tickets now for the G4D @ BMW PGA Championship and practice day on Tuesday, the Celebrity Pro-Am on Wednesday and the first two rounds of BMW PGA Championship action on Thursday and Friday.”

The Rolex Series tournament is a key part of the DP World Tour’s 2024 Global Schedule, giving members their final opportunities to secure their playing rights for 2025 and advance to the season-ending ‘DP World Tour Play-Offs’.

BMW group owners will once again receive preferred parking benefits, and park & ride shuttle services from local train stations will be available free of charge to all spectators.

Tickets for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are sold out, with limited Premium Experiences remaining.

In 2023, all General Admission and Ticket+ packages sold out ahead of the event, with Premium Experiences selling out on all days.

New in 2024 is The Approach by James Tanner, offering a flexible and informal Premium Experience with dishes from the British Chef.

Spectators can also view the action with Green on 18, enjoy refined dining in the Wentworth Clubhouse’s The Ballroom, or be at the heart of the festival atmosphere with the Champions Club in the fan village.
