Golf aficionados, rejoice! The Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship is set to welcome back none other than Rory McIlroy, who will be returning to Yas Links from November 7-10, 2024.
With his eyes firmly on topping the Race to Dubai Rankings in Partnership with Rolex for an impressive sixth time, McIlroy is poised to deliver a spectacle of golfing prowess.

Leading the current Rankings, McIlroy has already secured his spot in this penultimate event on the 2024 Race to Dubai calendar.
His stellar performance this season includes a victory at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, the first Rolex Series Event, a runner-up finish at the Dubai Invitational, and solid showings in the season’s first three Majors.
The Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship is the inaugural event of the DP World Tour Play-offs, a new two-event series that also features the season-ending DP World Tour Championship, where the Race to Dubai champion will be crowned.
The top 70 available players at the conclusion of the “Back 9” events will converge in Abu Dhabi as the season draws to a close.
McIlroy, the reigning European Number One and four-time Major Champion, is on a quest to equal Seve Ballesteros’s six Harry Vardon Trophies, trailing only Colin Montgomerie’s record of eight season-long titles.
McIlroy expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “It’s no secret that I love playing golf in the Middle East and having the opportunity to play in these two events back-to-back will be a great way to end the season,” said McIlroy.
“I’d love to lift the trophy in Abu Dhabi and have the chance to top the Race to Dubai Rankings again.”
The championship promises more than just on-course action. A full programme of events for the entire family is planned throughout the week, including dedicated activities for children, large screens for enhanced viewing, and other engaging activities.
The popular Ladies Day and Family Day will take place on Saturday and Sunday, respectively, along with live music performances by some of the UAE’s most renowned talents.
