Just when you thought fashion on the fairway couldn’t get any cheekier, along comes the Field to Fairway collection — a limited-edition collaboration between PUMA GOLF and Canadian style savants REIGNING CHAMP.
Imagine lacing up to tee off with the swagger of a striker and the precision of a putting wizard. That’s the aim here: a football-inspired golf kit that doesn’t just bend style rules — it boots them into the top corner.
Unveiled today, the Field to Fairway collection is more than a fashion capsule — it’s a cultural handshake between two worlds often separated by grass type and footwear spikes.
Think bold cuts, heritage callbacks, and technical fabrics that actually hold up to a windblown links course and post-round pints alike.
“PUMA GOLF is always looking for ways to push the boundaries and modernize golf apparel,” said Chris MacNeill, Global Director of Apparel and Accessories at PUMA GOLF.
“We found a lot of inspiration in how REIGNING CHAMP celebrates the culture of sport. The result of this collaboration is more than apparel – it’s a cultural crossover that resonates with today’s global sports fan.”
And MacNeill’s not just punting platitudes. This drop truly mixes performance with panache. Drawing from PUMA’s footballing lineage and REIGNING CHAMP’s minimalist DNA, the Field to Fairway lineup includes standouts like the T7 jacket and pants (an old-school PUMA silhouette reimagined with surgical tailoring), the buttery-soft CLOUDSPUN fleece quarter-zips, and the KING IT Indoor hybrid shoe that could just as easily nutmeg an opponent as grip a tight lie.
PGA Tour mainstay and frequent style renegade Rickie Fowler, who’ll debut the line at this week’s Open Championship, didn’t mince words: “As an athlete and lifelong sports fan, I love how the Field to Fairway collection celebrates sport at an international level.
Both sports continue to grow on the world stage, with the Open Championship this week and the World Cup just around the corner, so this feels like the perfect time to collab. It’s a sharp collection and I look forward to wearing it in competition this week.”
Sharp is right. The gear struts that fine line between tailored and technical, offering up MATTR polos in crisp whites and greens, modalon tees that’ll breathe better than a caddie under pressure, and the Palermo G — a spikeless golf shoe that brings a bit of terrace culture to the tee box.
REIGNING CHAMP’s Design Director Tung Vo explained the collaboration’s ethos: “Partnering with PUMA felt like a natural fit. We were drawn to PUMA’s legacy in football and wanted to combine that with their modern lens on golf.
We took inspiration from PUMA’s archives, celebrating iconic silhouettes but designed in a way that speaks back to Reigning Champ’s emphasis on simplicity and timeless design.
The outcome is a collection that respects tradition but isn’t afraid to move the game forward.” He added, “When we shared it with Rickie [Fowler] and saw his reaction, we knew the collection landed where it needed to.”
The Field to Fairway collection will be introduced through a three-part video series featuring Fowler, playfully chronicling the journey from the football pitch to the putting green.
If the clothes don’t convince you, the visuals just might — blending cinematic style with Fowler’s easygoing charm and, one assumes, a few flashy wedges.
Available now at select retailers and pumagolf.com, the collection is likely to vanish quicker than a Ryder Cup lead on foreign soil.
If you fancy yourself a sports fan who knows their 4-irons from their 4-4-2 formations, this could be the wardrobe upgrade your game’s been missing.
In short? The Field to Fairway collection isn’t just fashionable — it’s functional, forward-thinking, and a little bit feisty. Just like the best golfers… and footballers.
