PING Turns Up the Volume: Torque GC Gets a Fresh Sponsor as LIV Golf Heads to Mexico City

PING has never been shy about strutting its engineering chops, and now the brand is strapping its famous name to LIV Golf’s all-Latin American powerhouse, Torque GC.

The partnership, announced ahead of this week’s LIV Golf Mexico City event (April 25–27), puts a familiar logo on the bags, brims and scorecards of captain Joaquin Niemann and his merry band of shot-makers.

A Latin Quartet That Knows Its Gear

Torque GC reads like a roll-call at a Masters Champions Dinner of the future:

  • Joaquin Niemann (Chile) – team captain, world No. 1 on the LIV chart and recent winner of two of the season’s first four events.
  • Mito Pereira (Chile)
  • Sebastián Muñoz (Colombia)
  • Carlos Ortiz (Mexico)

All four grew up swinging PING sticks, and they haven’t strayed. That continuity wasn’t lost on the company’s top brass.

“All four of the Torque GC team members played PING equipment prior to turning professional and continue to do so today, we’ve had strong relationships with each of them throughout their careers. They are great friends and tremendous competitors. We look forward to following their successes both as a team and individuals as they help increase PING’s awareness to golfers around the world.”

PING CEO & President John K. Solheim.

Niemann’s New Driver and an Old Love Affair

The 26-year-old Chilean skipper has already racked up four individual LIV victories since jumping circuits in 2022.

His latest triumph on the Asian Tour’s Saudi International doubled as a curtain-raiser for PING’s G440 driver, which drew first blood straight out of the box.

“My first set of PING clubs was one of their junior sets and I’ve had PING clubs in my bag ever since, they’re an engineering company that puts product performance above all else. The equipment and service their tour reps provide give our team the confidence to go out and compete for the podium every week. Mito, Carlos, Sebastián and I are honoured and grateful PING has chosen to support Torque GC in such a meaningful way.”

Why This Deal Matters

  • Authenticity sells – Every player on Torque GC has history with the brand, so the sponsorship feels less like a billboard and more like a reunion.
  • Regional resonance – A Latin American team backed by a global name plants flags in emerging golf markets from Santiago to Bogotá.
  • Equipment buzz – Expect the G440 driver and its stable-mates to hog gear-head message boards after every televised bomb down the fairway.

The Fine Print

PING’s logo will pop up on:

  • PING staff bags
  • PING-branded headwear
  • Every last club in each player’s arsenal

Torque GC, meanwhile, brings four team titles since its 2023 debut and a combined 25 worldwide wins from Pereira, Ortiz and Muñoz alone.

In short, it’s a marriage of muscle and machinery, with Solheim’s R&D lab standing by to feed the beast.

Looking Ahead to Mexico City

Altitude, swirling breezes and a partisan crowd should make for theatre at El Camarón Golf Club this weekend.

Whether Niemann uncorks another win or Pereira drains a decisive putt, one thing is certain: you’ll hear a satisfying ping every time Torque GC sets a tee in the ground—and that’s by design.
