PGA of America Surprises New York Golf Fans with ‘The People’s Perk’ Ryder Cup Ticket Giveaway

When news broke that Ryder Cup fever was heading to the Big Apple, few expected it to land in their golf bag for free.

Yet that’s exactly what the PGA of America has in store with The People’s Perk: A Ryder Cup Ticket Giveaway, a five-month celebration of the 2025 Ryder Cup designed to reward New York’s most passionate players and supporters.

Beginning this spring, unsuspecting golfers at Bethpage Black and select public courses across Long Island and the New York City metro area will find themselves in the perfect kind of ambush: PGA of America leaders and special Ryder Cup guests popping up to hand out complimentary tickets.

No advance notice, no RSVP—just pure, unscripted generosity aimed at honouring the city’s dedication to the sport.

It’s not just casual weekend duffers who stand to benefit. Local first responders and community groups will also receive surprise visits, ensuring that those who serve the city get a front-row seat to golf’s greatest team event.

In total, 3,000 tickets are up for grabs—500 each day from Tuesday through Sunday of Ryder Cup week—and every winner receives a voucher for two tickets to the date of their choosing (subject to availability).

“The People’s Perk: A Ryder Cup Ticket Giveaway is a special way for us to celebrate the unparalleled dedication and enthusiasm of the New York golf community by providing them with a memorable experience at the 2025 Ryder Cup,” said PGA of America President Don Rea Jr., PGA Master Professional and Owner/Operator of Augusta Ranch Golf Club (Arizona).

“The PGA of America is proud to share the excitement of golf’s greatest team event with our host community.

We cannot wait to welcome the lucky ticket recipients this September as we all rally behind Captain Keegan Bradley and the United States Team.”

In true community spirit, The People’s Perk encourages families to take full advantage of junior admission.

Juniors aged 15 and under attend free at Bethpage Black on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday when accompanied by a ticketed adult—each adult may bring up to two juniors at no extra cost.

For those eager to join the party, details on how to catch this year’s Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black can be found at RyderCup.com.
