FootJoy and Harris Tweed Unveil Limited-Edition Premiere Series for the 153rd Open at Royal Portrush

In a union as timeless as haggis and heavy rough, FootJoy has once again stitched heritage into every step ahead of the 153rd Open Championship.

The #1 shoe in golf has teamed up with Harris Tweed Hebrides to unveil two limited edition models—just in time to strut down the storied fairways of Royal Portrush.

This isn’t just a shoe drop—it’s a sartorial tribute to tradition. Inspired by the rugged elegance of the Antrim coast and the genteel brutality of Royal Portrush Golf Club, this year’s collection features the classic FootJoy Premiere Series silhouette, now dressed in a bold plaid pattern worthy of a dram and a duel.

“We are delighted to once again collaborate with FootJoy for the 153rd Open Championship at Royal Portrush Golf Club,” said Mark Hogarth, Brand Ambassador at Harris Tweed Hebrides.

“This is the fifth year of our partnership and we are delighted to continue to work with a brand with such a rich heritage and premium quality of product.”

Let’s be clear—this isn’t factory fluff. Governed by the Harris Tweed Act, the fabric must be handwoven in the Outer Hebrides using traditional methods. Every stitch whispers craftsmanship, every thread holds history.

The limited-edition Packard and Field models arrive with a matching custom shoe bag made from the same authentic Harris Tweed cloth. Whether you’re chasing birdies or just the bar tab, it’s hard to look this stylish while doing it.

“Following the success of ‘The Stamp’ Premiere Series in 2024, this year’s design is a classic plaid in a balance of muted and deep blue shades, allowing the burgundy windowpane to give a vibrant accent,” said Guy Smith, Senior Product Manager, FootJoy EMEA.

“FootJoy worked closely with the Harris Tweed Hebrides design team to select a bold pattern to match both the heritage and unique nature of Royal Portrush Golf Club.”

The FootJoy x Harris Tweed release is the final drop in the brand’s 2025 Legend Series—a collection of golf shoes paying homage to iconic moments in the game. If there were ever a time for a golfer to walk the line between tradition and torque, this is it.

Crafted with full-grain leather and that unmistakable Harris Tweed wool, both models boast the Premiere Series’ VersaTrax+ outsole technology. Translation: style meets stability, even when the Irish Sea is throwing a tantrum.

FootJoy isn’t just throwing plaid at the wall to see what sticks. This is calculated cool—these are the same shoes worn by tour stalwarts like Adam Scott, Matt Wallace, and Cameron Young, who’ll be sporting them proudly at Royal Portrush.

Chris Tobias, FootJoy’s Vice President of Global Footwear, summed it up: “We are delighted to renew our partnership with Harris Tweed Hebrides for yet another exciting collaboration.

This is the first time we have worked together to create a design that pays homage to the County of Antrim in Northern Ireland, celebrating its cultural heritage and stunning landscapes.

We could not think of a better way to round up the 2025 Legends Series collection and we look forward to seeing many of our FJ players sporting both the Packard and Field models at this year’s Open Championship.”

Available from Tuesday, July 15th via select retailers and at FootJoy.co.uk, the FootJoy Harris Tweed Premiere Series Packard and Field editions are priced at £230 a pair.

Yes, they’re a splurge—but when you’re walking a course carved out by time and tempest, only the best will do.
