Motocaddy Renews Partnership with Golf’s Greatest Holes for Royal Portrush Special

Motocaddy, the world’s biggest-selling electric trolley brand, has once again joined forces with the acclaimed Golf’s Greatest Holes television series to showcase every hole at Royal Portrush ahead of The Open Championship this July.

The renewed partnership builds on a three-year relationship that kicked off with a tour of top courses across the island of Ireland, followed by a sun-soaked second outing in Portugal.

Now, the producers have turned their lens on the legendary Dunluce Links—making this the first time all 18 holes of a single course have been the stars of the show.

A Global Showcase

After enthralling viewers worldwide, Golf’s Greatest Holes is set to reach even more fans with this new season, slated to be broadcast in more than 180 countries, including the United States, China, and Australia. Co-presenters Paul McGinley—the winning 2016 Ryder Cup Captain—and 7-handicap TV personality Chris Hollins will be navigating the Royal Portrush fairways with the latest Motocaddy electric trolley models: the feature-packed M5 GPS and the ever-popular M1.

The production utilises 4K super high-definition cameras and drones to capture every bunker, bend, and breathtaking vista.

Viewers can catch the first episode of the six-part series on Sky Sports on Tuesday, January 28 at 18:00 GMT.

Star Appearances

Renowned local heroes pop in to add extra sparkle: 2011 Champion Golfer Darren Clarke, an Honorary Club Member, and Portrush resident James Nesbitt—best known for his acting talents and keen passion for golf—join McGinley and Hollins on select holes.

Expect a vibrant mix of golf expertise, local lore, and personal anecdotes as they tackle one of the most storied courses on the planet.

Why the Renewed Partnership?

“The Motocaddy brand and our leading products gained a lot from the global exposure generated by the first two series of Golf’s Greatest Holes, so it was an easy decision to renew the partnership for an entertaining insight into the challenge presented at this year’s Open Championship,” says Motocaddy Marketing Director, Oliver Churcher.

Meanwhile, Boulder Creek International CEO Matt Jeschelnik, whose company produces the show, values the ongoing collaboration.

“Having Motocaddy renew its partnership with the show is fantastic and reflects the value the brand sees in our style of presentation,” he explains.

“We look to take our partners on a journey to other parts of the world very soon, as the show gains admirers wanting to display their golf offering to a bigger audience.”

Breaking Down the Tech

Motocaddy’s M5 GPS trolley combines cutting-edge touchscreen GPS technology with a sleek, automotive-inspired design.

It features the revolutionary CLICK ‘N’ CONNECT cable-free Lithium battery system that integrates seamlessly into the frame and offers a pop-up port for convenient charging.

This next-level convenience includes auto-disconnect functionality that powers the trolley off when folded.

Golfers will also appreciate full hole mapping on the responsive 3.5” touchscreen display, providing distances, hazard info, and dynamic pin positioning across more than 40,000 courses worldwide.

Plus, Wi-Fi connectivity makes updates a breeze, while integrated Bluetooth® alerts you to smartphone notifications—from missed calls to social media pings—right on the handle.

Another standout is the M1 DHC, one of the brand’s most beloved models, thanks to its simple compact folding system, all-terrain tyres, an electronic parking brake, and nine-speed settings.

It also boasts the new CLICK ‘N’ CONNECT battery technology, a USB charging port, and an ergonomic handle with Adjustable Distance Control of up to 45 yards.
