LIV Golf x Coupang Play Partnership Sets the Stage for Korea’s First LIV Golf Event

Somewhere between the home of kimchi and the Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea, a thundering echo of “Golf, But Louder” is about to shake the fairways.

In a move that’ll have both seasoned pros and weekend hackers humming with anticipation, LIV Golf has just rolled out a sparkling new partnership with Coupang Play for its debut event in the Land of the Morning Calm, set for May 2–4, 2025.

Officially christened LIV Golf Korea presented by Coupang Play, the tournament brings the League’s star-studded cast to Incheon, where fervent fans can indulge in the spectacle of 54-hole team competition, shotgun starts, and that infectious energy that’s been converting sceptics all over the world.

This multi-year agreement significantly deepens LIV Golf’s footprint in Korea—Coupang Play will serve not only as a principal partner of the Iron Heads GC (home to three Korean-born stars) but also as a dedicated marketing and exclusive broadcast partner for every LIV Golf event in South Korea.

If you haven’t been formally introduced to Coupang yet, picture the biggest dog in the Korean e-commerce yard. Since rolling out Coupang Play in 2020, they’ve become the top destination for sports fans craving every thrilling moment—from the first whistle to the final putt.

Whether it’s their annual “Coupang Play Series” or the star-studded 2024 “MLB World Tour Seoul Series presented by Coupang Play,” they’ve consistently demonstrated that delivering live coverage of global sports is truly their calling.

Football, golf, motorsports—if it rolls, flies, or spins, Coupang Play likely has a feed for it. Now they’re adding the entire LIV Golf calendar to their ever-growing portfolio.

“As we expand the League schedule, we are thrilled to welcome Coupang Play as the presenting partner for the first-ever LIV Golf Korea,” said Ross Hallett, LIV Golf Executive Vice President & Head of Events.

“Coupang Play’s leading streaming service and ticketing operation, together with their significant presence throughout the country, makes them the ideal partner to bring the full LIV Golf experience to another major market in Asia, aligned with our ambition to make LIV Golf Korea one of the biggest events of 2025.

Given Coupang Play’s local market expertise and variety of services, they will be an invaluable partner as we attract fans to attend the event and engage with LIV’s exciting brand of team competition in what is an incredibly important market for our League.”

“We are proud to partner with LIV Golf, the world’s first global team golf league, known for its star-studded roster and bold innovations that are breaking new ground in sports entertainment,” adds John Lee, Head of Sports at Coupang Play.

“With our experience in bringing global sports events such as the ‘Coupang Play Series’ and ‘MLB World Tour’ to Korea, we are confident that fans will experience only the best with LIV Golf Korea.”

In a notable development for Korean golf fans, Coupang Play becomes the Iron Heads GC’s first principal partner.

The team is captained by Korean-American Kevin Na and features local hero Danny Lee, rising Japanese player Jinichiro Kozuma, and emerging Korean talent Yubin Jang, who just capped off a sensational KPGA season with four titles.

Jang’s first shot at LIV Golf comes in February, but his true homecoming will be at the 2025 event in Incheon—10 years after Danny Lee’s thrilling President’s Cup singles victory over Dustin Johnson at the same track.

Beyond official broadcasts, the Coupang Play x LIV Golf Partnership will give fans unprecedented access to Iron Heads GC content—behind-the-scenes footage, training tidbits, and all the banter you’d expect when the world’s most exciting new league lands in one of golf’s most passionate markets.

You’ll even spot the Coupang Play logo across the Iron Heads’ uniforms all season long, because why wear bland when you can wear bold?

“Our team is proud to partner with Coupang Play, one of the most recognizable brands in the country that is committed to connecting audiences with the top sports leagues in the world,” said Martin Kim, General Manager of Iron Heads GC.

“We look forward to giving our fans in Korea exclusive content through Coupang Play so they can embrace their new hometown team and see the Iron Heads as they’ve never seen us before.”

Kicking off its third official season in February, LIV Golf continues to mix up the traditional rules of engagement with 54-hole formats, shotgun starts, and a high-energy blend of individual and team showdowns that has enthralled global audiences.

Expect to see the likes of 2024 LIV Golf Individual Champion Jon Rahm (Legion XIII), 2024 Team Champion Ripper GC led by Cameron Smith, Bryson DeChambeau (Crushers GC), Brooks Koepka (Smash GC), Dustin Johnson (4Aces GC), Sergio Garcia (Fireballs GC), and a host of other big hitters—all available to watch live on Coupang Play or in person this May at Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea.
