LIV Golf’s Global Stars To Light Up Iconic Hong Kong Golf Club In First Asian Stop Of 2024

LIV Golf is set to make a triumphant return to Asia, with the highly anticipated LIV Golf Hong Kong set to grace the fairways of the prestigious Hong Kong Golf Club from 8 to 10 March 2024.

General admission tickets are now available for fans in the Greater Bay Area to witness a world-class player field in action, which consists of 14 major champions with the latest signing of Jon Rahm, along with Sergio Garcia, Brooks Koepka, Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson, Cameron Smith, Bryson Dechambeau, Patrick Reed, Henrik Stenson, Bubba Watson, Louis Oosthuizen, Graeme McDowell, Martin Kaymer, and Charl Schwartzel.

Majesticks GC’s Ian Poulter is no stranger to the esteemed Hong Kong Golf Club, having played there on multiple occasions and emerging victorious in the 2010 Hong Kong Open with a remarkable tournament record of 22-under-par.

Poulter, who stars alongside Stenson, Lee Westwood and Sam Horsfield in Majesticks GC, is thrilled to showcase LIV Golf’s exciting format to the region and expressed: “I can’t wait to return to a place that holds so many great memories for me.

The energy of the fans, the challenging layout, and the aura of the prestigious Hong Kong Golf Club make it a special stop on the LIV Golf calendar.

Bringing the unique LIV Golf format to such a historic venue is an opportunity to create new memories and share the excitement of what LIV Golf is all about with the passionate golf fans in the Greater Bay Area.”

LIV Golf Hong Kong will unfold over three days on a composite course consisting of holes from Hong Kong Golf Club’s New and Eden Courses. The course is renowned for its tight fairways, and the 18th hole is regarded as one of the most notorious holes for its complexity.

Poulter added: “The composite course at the Hong Kong Golf Club is truly unique, and I relish the challenge it presents. It’s a course that tests every aspect of a golfer’s skill, and I hope to come out on top based on my experience with the course.”

In the recent 2023 edition of the Hong Kong Open, part of the International Series sanctioned by the Asian Tour, more than 10 LIV Golf players, including 2023 LIV Golf Individual Champion Talor Gooch and Ripper GC’s Smith, got the chance to better acquaint themselves with Hong Kong Golf Club’s unique composite course, which may prove advantageous in their pursuit of glory in LIV Golf’s first Asian event of the year. Smith came up just short, finishing in the runner-up spot with an 18-under-par score.

LIV Golf Hong Kong marks the fourth event of the global 14-event LIV Golf 2024 season, providing golf fans in the Greater Bay Area the opportunity to immerse themselves in LIV Golf’s innovative format, which features world-class golfers competing on teams in simultaneous individual and team play across three days.
