LIV Golf has unveiled the details for its 2024 Individual Championship, set to take place from September 13-15 at Bolingbrook Golf Club, just outside Chicago.
This event, the 13th tournament of the LIV Golf 2024 season, is crucial, as players will battle for the final standings in the individual rankings and determine team seedings for the 2024 Team Championship.
Fans interested in attending can purchase tickets starting next Wednesday, May 8 at 10 am CDT on the LIV Golf website.
Commissioner and CEO Greg Norman expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “The passionate sports fans of Chicago have embraced the intense competition and fan-first experience that LIV Golf delivers, and this year it will be an incredible setting for a high-stakes event as players battle it out for the individual title and a roster spot for 2025.”
Mayor Mary Basta also welcomed the event, saying, “We are excited to welcome the star-studded, international field of great players to The Village of Bolingbrook and Bolingbrook Golf Club.”
The Bolingbrook Golf Club, located 30 miles from downtown Chicago, is designed by renowned architect Arthur Hills with partner Steve Forrest.
It features a unique 156-yard island green on its signature 15th hole. The 7,104-yard course, with its rolling fairways and elevated greens, has seven lakes and was previously used by the PGA Tour as a host venue for the Forme Tour in 2021.
The LIV Golf Chicago event is pivotal for players as it offers the last chance to secure points for the 2024 individual standings.
Players in the top 24, known as the Lock Zone, are guaranteed a spot in the 2025 season, while those in the Open Zone (25-48) become free agents with the opportunity to be re-signed or picked up by another team.
Players finishing in the Drop Zone (49 and below) will be relegated from the League and qualify for the 2024 LIV Golf Promotions tournament.
Last season’s Individual Championship in Jeddah witnessed a thrilling playoff between Brooks Koepka and Talor Gooch, with Gooch ultimately winning the 2023 season-long title.
The 2024 Team Championship details will be announced soon, but the Individual Championship will feature some of golf’s biggest names, including Jon Rahm, Brooks Koepka, Bryson DeChambeau, and Phil Mickelson.
The competition will be broadcast in the U.S. on The CW, The CW App, and LIV Golf Plus, with global distribution on LIV Golf’s YouTube channel and other international partners.
