Next stop, LIV Virginia at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville, Virginia.
The first and only tournament sandwiched between the PGA Championship and the U.S. Open, Virginia has all the makings of an excellent tournament.
Will the win come from one of the U.S. Open favourites like Bryson DeChambeau, or will a new challenger emerge as Harold Varner III did back in 2023 at LIV DC?
With plenty of tournaments left to play, the Top 10 outside DeChambeau, Rahm, and Niemann will look to close the gap and push towards the individual championship.
The last major men’s tournament at RTJ was the 2015 Quicken Loans National. A number of future LIV stars participated then and came close to winning.
That decade-old leaderboard was led by the Iron Heads’ Danny Lee (T4; -12) and Charles Howell III (T11; -10).
We are proud to bring you our LIV Fantasy rankings for the next iteration of LIV Virginia!
Picks by Group
- Bryson DeChambeau– Bryson’s last five matches have produced the following results: Miami 5th Place, The Masters T5, Mexico City T2, Korea 1st, PGA Championship T2. There is no one in better form on LIV than Bryson. While Jon Rahm may be an automatic Top 10 finish and Joaquin Niemann also has a legitimate shot to win outright, DeChambeau is the best choice for Virginia.
- Lucas Herbert – Champion of The International Series Japan, Herbert is having himself a career year and is making a surprise run up to the top of the individual standings. Outside of Herbert’s T31 finish earlier this season in Adelaide, Lucas has finished in the Top 20 five times this season to include three Top 5 finishes – the best being a recent T2 in Mexico City. For his efforts, he currently sits in 5th place overall, making him the top non-captain in the league.
- Richard Bland – Although his title defence at the Senior PGA Championship was ultimately unsuccessful, Bland put together another great performance at the Congressional Country Club, finishing T14 with a final score of 2-under par. One of LIV’s steadier golfers, Bland has finished in the Top 15 in four out of seven matches this season. Bland will travel to Oakmont next week to participate in the U.S. Open, look for him to stay sharp this weekend as he prepares to make a run at another major championship.
- Andy Ogletree – While Ben Campbell is available here in Group 4, his playing status currently remains unknown. This Group 4 decision came down to Ogletree and Stenson as they have been in somewhat similar form the past two tournaments before the PGA Championship break. Ogletree is better than Stenson in scrambling percentage (59.59%) to Stenson (55.56%) and slightly better in birdies scored by 0.14 (Ogletree is currently at 3.19 per round). Ogletree is also the better option as he can likely perform at a higher level on Sunday, as opposed to any of the Majesticks captains’ final round collapses that seem to occur like clockwork.
- Thomas Pieters – Pieters’ current form is excellent as evidenced by his last two finishes in Mexico City (15th) and Korea (T4). Outside of two so-so showings this season, Pieters has finished in 24th place (last spot in The Lock Zone) or better five times.
Picks for Teams

- Torque – The only team in the league to have three players in the Top 10, Torque looks like they’re finally ready for their first team win of the season. It was around this time two years ago that Torque won at LIV DC (Trump National) which would be added to their eventual total of four victories in 2023. In Korea, the top three all finished T20 or better with Mito Pereira being the odd man out.
- Ripper – Led by Lucas Herbert, who is also our number one option for Group 2, the reigning team champions remain a powerhouse. Extremely likely to win a second tournament at some point in 2025, Ripper has Marc Leishman (10th place) and Cam Smith (three Top 10 finishes in a row) to rely on. Like Torque, the big question mark is the performance of their fourth man, Matt Jones. If Jones can recover from a T42 finish in Korea and get back to his old reliable ways, Ripper is an excellent choice if you don’t believe Torque is ready for their first win of the season.
