Kris Kim Set for Maiden DP World Tour Appearance at Betfred British Masters

Rising golf star Kris Kim is poised to make his DP World Tour debut at the Betfred British Masters, hosted by Sir Nick Faldo at the iconic Belfry from August 29 to September 2, 2024.

This 16-year-old English amateur is rapidly ascending in the golf world, and his upcoming participation is a much-anticipated event.

Kim first garnered widespread attention last year, playing a pivotal role in Europe’s victory at the Junior Ryder Cup in Italy.

His recent feat of becoming the youngest player in 11 years to make the cut in a PGA TOUR event at THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson further solidified his status as a prodigy.

A Star in the Making

Kim’s accomplishments speak volumes. He captured the Boys’ Amateur title, the European Individual Championship, and the McGregor Trophy last year.

His performance at the Marco Simone Golf & Country Club, where he triumphed over highly-rated American Miles Russell 5&4 in the Singles, was nothing short of spectacular.

“I am so excited to play at The Belfry later this year and I am incredibly grateful to the DP World Tour for the opportunity,” Kim expressed with youthful enthusiasm.

“The British Masters is an event I have grown up watching and to have the chance to play is a dream come true.

The event celebrates the best of British golf and having Sir Nick Faldo as the host is really cool.

Hopefully I’ll get the opportunity to spend some time with him and learn from his experience.”

Kim’s humility and eagerness to learn from seasoned professionals like Sir Nick Faldo demonstrate his mature approach to the game.

“I feel like I learned so much from playing on the PGA TOUR earlier this month and spending some time around the DP World Tour players will be priceless for my future, so I’m really looking forward to it,” he added.

The Belfry’s Storied History

The Betfred British Masters, a highlight on the DP World Tour calendar, returns to The Belfry for the 21st time.

The venue, steeped in golf history, first hosted the Lada English Golf Classic, won by the legendary Seve Ballesteros.

After a 13-year hiatus, the Tour returned to The Belfry in 2020 and has hosted a tournament each year since.

As Kim gears up for his debut, golf fans are buzzing with excitement. The opportunity to watch a young prodigy alongside seasoned champions like Danny Willett is a drawcard for the event.

Tickets for the Betfred British Masters are selling quickly, with General Admission, Ticket+, and Premium Experiences options available for purchase.
