The stakes have never been higher for the 32 top-ranked players in The International Series, with the LIV Golf Promotions event set to take place at Riyadh Golf Club from December 12 to 14, marking a pivotal opportunity for pros around the world.
The headline? A golden ticket to the LIV Golf League 2025 season awaits the victor, and with it, the chance to join the ranks of some of the sport’s elite.
This high-stakes tournament is structured as a fierce stroke-play showdown across four rounds in three days, culminating in a life-changing spot on the LIV Golf League roster for the winner.
Following the season’s end, the top eight in The International Series Rankings will earn a bye into the second round of this Promotions event, giving them a strategic edge.
Players ranked from ninth to 40th will also have a shot, entering in the first round.
Not only does this event open doors for up-and-coming golfers, but it also provides a second chance for players previously part of the LIV Golf League who finished lower in the standings or lacked team commitments in the Open Zone (places 25th to 48th).
Elite amateurs and top players from other tours are also eligible to compete, making this a truly international showcase.
Rahul Singh, Head of The International Series, said: “The International Series has firmly established itself as the pathway onto the LIV Golf League, with the winner of The International Series Rankings gaining a place on the LIV Golf League roster.
With this additional place being on offer to over 30 eligible players, it creates another exciting route to the LIV Golf League.”
“Rankings points have added significance for players as one good performance or run at any stage between now and the end of the season could well see a surge up the rankings table.
There is plenty to fight for, with five tournaments and over 13,500 points still on offer, as we head towards the conclusion of another successful season.”
Players have been fighting tooth and nail this season, each step a struggle to reach the top of the rankings. In 2022, Zimbabwe’s Scott Vincent made waves by claiming the top spot in The International Series, earning his spot on the Iron Heads GC team.
Meanwhile, American talent Andy Ogletree carved out his own path to the HyFlyers GC, impressing fans and competitors alike with standout performances in England and Qatar’s International Series events.
Last year’s Promotions event was packed with fierce competition, with players like Kieran Vincent, Jinichiro Kozuma, and Kalle Samooja winning hard-fought league spots.
Thailand’s Poom Saksansin and Suradit Yongcharoenchai were heartbreakingly close to a playoff spot but still earned positions for the upcoming season.
The LIV Golf Promotions tournament is set up for a fierce four-round, 18-hole stroke-play battle.
In the first round, the top 20 players (plus any ties) move on to round two, where scores reset, and fresh qualifiers enter the mix.
The big finish on day three is a do-or-die 36-hole showdown, where scores reset for one last shot at glory. What’s on the line? A solid $200,000 prize and the ultimate prize—a spot in the 2025 LIV Golf League, waiting for the winner to claim it.
Cho Minn Thant, CEO of the Asian Tour, celebrated the collaboration between the tours, saying, “The Asian Tour was well represented last season at the inaugural LIV Golf Promotions event, and we look forward to another strong turnout this season.
The pathway and opportunities offered by The International Series are crucial for us in attracting quality golfers from all over the world, and giving the Asian Tour a much more global outlook and profile.”
The LIV Golf League brings together the world’s best, with 13 teams and 54 top players competing over 14 tournaments at breathtaking venues.
For players on the fringe, this Promotions event is not just a tournament—it’s the opportunity of a lifetime.
