Girls Golf Rocks returns for 2024 alongside the exciting debut of the Get into Golf Rookies program, welcoming all budding young golf enthusiasts.

Administered by England Golf, the governing body for amateur and club golf, both initiatives are led by PGA-qualified coaches or Community Golf Instructors.

Girls Golf Rocks invites girls aged 5-18 to discover and enjoy golf in a fun and welcoming environment, making it the largest participation program for girls across the nation.

Get into Golf Rookies aims to broaden access to golf for children and young people aged 5-18 in mixed sessions, fostering inclusivity and skill development.

The program’s structure varies across clubs and facilities, with some offering complimentary taster sessions lasting approximately an hour.

These sessions provide a perfect opportunity for participants to experience golf before committing to the activity blocks.

Each program offers six hours of activity, with the final hour spent on the golf course.

The activities are designed to be enjoyable, foster teamwork, incorporate various golf-related exercises and allow social time.

The six-hour sessions can be delivered over six consecutive weeks as a course or in a camp-style format, including options such as:

  • 6 hours in a single day
  • 3 hours over consecutive days or weeks
  • 2 hours over 3 consecutive days or weeks
  • 4 one-hour sessions with the final session lasting 2 hours (Monday to Friday)

Activities commence in April and run until the end of October. Participation costs £40 per participant, which includes a goody bag.

Girls Golf Rocks participants receive a branded polo shirt, water bottle, bag, and tees, while

Get into Golf Rookies participants receive a branded baseball cap, water bottle, bag, and tees.

Lauren Spray, Women & Girls Manager at England Golf, expressed enthusiasm for the growing success of Girls Golf Rocks and the introduction of the Get into Golf Rookies program.
