England Golf Launches ‘Get Into Golf’ Website to Drive Participation and Promote Physical and Mental Health In Communities

England Golf has unveiled its latest initiative its brand-new ‘Get Into Golf’ website, to help people take up the game and benefit from its many physical and mental health benefits.

The website launch on Wednesday 15 May ties in with Mental Health Awareness Week (13-19 May), as the governing body encourages people to take up the game by utilising all the advice, tips and case studies on the new website, which can be viewed by clicking here.

After launching its Respect in Golf movement in 2023, England Golf is continuing to show its unwavering commitment to making the game of golf inclusive and accessible to people of all walks of life, and this latest movement is the ultimate platform for anyone interested in taking up the game.

Whether they’re newcomers looking to learn or are in search of a fun activity nearby, visitors to the website can look, book and pay, all in one place, and obtain essential information for beginners, including the benefits of golf, inspiring stories from the community, and top tips for players of all levels.

The website also includes a ‘Get Course Ready in 5 Weeks’ video series, designed to equip newcomers with the knowledge and skills to confidently make the step onto a golf course.

This week’s launch also coincides with the Mental Health Foundation’s ‘Movement: Moving more for your mental health’ theme, and the new website aligns with this in providing sections about key benefits which people can obtain from playing the game, such as reducing stress levels, keeping active, and connecting with other people.

Ways in which beginners can enjoy golf include playing adventure/mini golf courses and hitting balls at a driving range, while there are also courses such as Get Into Golf Rookies, Girls Golf Rocks and Women on Par, open to people of all abilities and backgrounds, to help try and keep them moving and staying active.

All affiliated golf clubs and facilities can upload their activities to the website free of charge, with nearly 500 activities already available on the site from over 240 providers. Click here to register your facility.

England Golf Chief Operating Officer Richard Flint said: “Golf is an ideal sport for promoting movement and enhancing mental wellbeing.

The Get Into Golf website offers people the chance to look for activities which suit their lifestyle, while getting them more active so they can reap the physical and mental benefits of the game.

Whether it’s on the course or simply learning to play, the Get Into Golf website is the place to go.

“Our ambition with the Get Into Golf campaign is to make the sport more inclusive and accessible to a wider audience, and for them to be able to access this platform and utilise its content in making significant steps towards achieving their golfing goals”.

“We know there are circa 5 million people in England who play golf in some way, whether that’s hitting balls at a driving range or playing mini golf, and ‘Get Into Golf’ is really there for them to make those next steps in their golfing journey and to enjoy all the health benefits that the game brings.”
