Germishuys, Guillamoundeguy, and Young Vie for Victory at Big Green Egg German Challenge

The stage is set for a spectacular showdown at the Big Green Egg German Challenge, and trust me, it’s shaping up to be a Sunday you won’t want to miss.

At Wittelsbacher Golfclub, three fine lads—Deon Germishuys, Oihan Guillamoundeguy, and Daniel Young—are all knotted up at the top.

Each has a tale to tell and a trophy to chase, and they’re ready to light up the course come the final round.

Daniel Young of Scotland was first out of the gates, swinging his way to a sparkling six-under 66.

This lad set the bar high early on, parking himself at a comfy 13 under overall. Close on his heels, South Africa’s Deon Germishuys and France’s Oihan Guillamoundeguy made sure to keep things interesting, each carding a three-under 69 to make it a three-way tie.

Now, Deon Germishuys isn’t just playing for kicks—there’s a lot on the line for him. After a tough break last season, finishing 125th on the Race to Dubai Rankings, he lost his DP World Tour card.

But like any seasoned golfer, he’s all about making a comeback. “I’m really happy today,” said Germishuys, his smile nearly as wide as the fairway.

“I made some crucial par putts on the front nine and then managed to get into a rhythm on the back nine, which was important.”

Deon’s got his eye on the prize, eager to hop back on the big stage. “If you are hitting fairways out here and dialled in with your irons, you can definitely make some birdies on this course. T

he greens are rolling nicely, and it’s about handling the pressure of being at the top of the leaderboard. It would be amazing to get my DP World Tour card back this year.

I miss playing on that level, and my goal at the start of the season was to finish in that top 20 to regain my status.”

Then there’s young Oihan Guillamoundeguy, just 19 and already showing the poise of a seasoned pro.

This lad made a stunning move with four birdies in his last five holes to join the leaders.

Talk about a clutch performance! “I’m pretty happy with my game today,” he shared, calm as a cucumber. “I remained patient throughout my round and then managed to finish with four birdies towards the end.”

For Oihan, it’s all about keeping his cool and putting those birdies on the scorecard.

“I know that I can make a lot of birdies, so for me, it is about keeping the big numbers off the scorecard. If you want to win, you need to hole a lot of putts, and your green reading has to be spot on.

I’m in a great position heading into the final round. I will give everything that I have got and try to do my best to win the tournament tomorrow.”

As for Daniel Young, he’s sticking to his guns, hoping that his lead-setting round can carry him through to a victory lap.

And don’t forget about the others nipping at their heels. With a slew of talented players just a stroke or two behind, tomorrow’s finale promises to be a real barn burner.

So, brew a pot of coffee, cancel your Sunday plans, and tune in as the final round kicks off bright and early at 8:25 am local time.

It’s going to be a thrill ride at the Wittelsbacher Golfclub, with Germishuys, Guillamoundeguy, and Young each vying for that top spot.

Who will break away from the pack and claim victory? You’ll have to watch to find out!
