PGA of America Teams Up with PENN Entertainment for Sports Betting Partnership

The PGA of America and PENN Entertainment have formed a groundbreaking multiyear sports betting partnership, with ESPN BET named as the “Official Sports Betting Sponsor” for the PGA Championship through 2026.

The 2024 PGA Championship, set to take place at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky from May 16-19, will mark the first men’s golf major to have an official sports betting sponsor.

ESPN BET, an online sportsbook, merges PENN’s proprietary technology and sportsbook expertise with ESPN’s influential brand and media reach.

Jeff Price, Chief Commercial Officer for PGA of America, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, noting that the sponsorship would enrich the spectator experience through both onsite presence and broadcast content, giving fans exciting new ways to engage with the tournament.

Jason Birney, Vice President of Operations at PENN Interactive, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the unique opportunity to integrate ESPN BET into the PGA Championship’s broadcasts and on-site activities.

The deal aligns ESPN BET with a major golf event, with the PGA Championship occurring in states where ESPN BET operates through 2026.

A key feature of the partnership is the ESPN BET Members Lounge, which will be located adjacent to the green on the par-4 13th hole at the 2024 PGA Championship.

This premium hospitality space will be exclusive to ESPN BET account holders, providing views of Valhalla’s 13th green, a VR simulator, beverages, covered seating, and special ESPN BET offers for visitors.

Additional interactive activities are planned throughout the tournament week.

Beyond on-site activities, ESPN BET will be integrated into ESPN’s broadcasts, offering betting odds and insights to enhance storytelling during the championship.

Collaborative content opportunities across PGA of America’s digital platforms are also part of the agreement, with ESPN BET providing special PGA Championship betting offers in the lead-up to and during all four rounds of competition.

Following the 2024 event, the 2025 PGA Championship will be held at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina, and the 2026 PGA Championship at Aronimink Golf Club in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania.
