England Golf Names Home International Squads for 2024

In a display of burgeoning talent and rich tradition, England Golf has unveiled their squads for the 2024 Women’s and Men’s Home Internationals, as well as the Girls’ and Boys’ Home Internationals.

The Women’s and Men’s events will be staged at the storied Murcar Links in Scotland from August 7-9, while the Girls’ and Boys’ competitions are set to ignite the fairways of Conwy Golf Club in Wales from August 6-8.

The Defending Champions

With an unbroken record since the inception of these combined events—England’s grip on the Girls’ and Boys’ Home Internationals has been firm since 2021, and they have dominated the Women’s and Men’s Home Internationals since 2022.

We are aiming to continue on this trajectory against talented opposition at Murcar Links and Conwy in August.”

Meet the England Girls Squad

Sadie Adams (Royal Birkdale, Lancashire) Adams, the Fairhaven Trophy and Irish Girls’ Amateur Open Champion, was instrumental in England’s victory at the 2024 European Girls’ Team Championship. She also represented GB&I at the 2023 Junior Vagliano Trophy.

Lauren Crump (Hill Valley, Shropshire) Crump clinched the English Girls’ Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship and enjoyed a top-five finish at the Welsh Women’s Open Stroke Play Championship.

Ellie Lichtenhein (Buckinghamshire) Lichtenhein finished as runner-up at the English Girls’ Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship and the Scottish Girls’ U16 Open, showcasing her consistency and skill.

Charlotte Naughton (Longhirst Hall, Northumberland) Naughton secured second place at the Girls’ U16 Amateur Championship and played a pivotal role in England’s bronze win at the European Young Masters.

Annabel Peaford (Walton Heath, Surrey) Peaford triumphed at the European Young Masters with an impressive -20 score and shattered the Sunningdale course record, highlighting her formidable talent.

Matilde Santilli (Foxhills, Surrey) Santilli, the co-winner of the Critchley Astor Salver, has been a consistent performer, contributing to England’s European Girls’ Team Championship victory.

Amelia Wan (Sherwood Forest, Nottinghamshire) Wan’s top-five finish at the European Cup of Nations in Spain and her role in the 2024 European Girls’ Team Championship underscore her competitive edge.

Lily Hirst (Huddersfield, Yorkshire) Hirst, the English Women’s Open Stroke Play Champion, has notched multiple top-10 finishes in the USA.

Isla McDonald-O’Brien (Shrewsbury, Shropshire) McDonald-O’Brien has a wealth of top-10 finishes and was a gold medalist at the European Girls’ Team Championship.

Nellie Ong (Eaton, Norfolk) Ong, the Welsh Women’s Open Stroke Play Champion, has represented England in the European Ladies Team Championship.

Patience Rhodes (Burnham & Berrow, Somerset) Rhodes, the 2023 St Rule Trophy winner, helped Europe clinch the Patsy Hankins Trophy.

Lottie Woad (Farnham, Surrey) Woad made history by winning the Augusta National Women’s Amateur and becoming the first English female World No.1 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings.

Matthew Dodd-Berry (Royal Liverpool, Cheshire) Dodd-Berry, the SoCon Men’s Golf Champion, was integral to England’s European Team Championship squad.

Charlie Forster (Basingstoke, Hampshire) Forster, with four top-10 finishes in 2024, represented GB&I in the St Andrews Trophy.
