England Golf Announces 2025 Mixed Squad for Spain U16 Challenge at Seaton Carew

The England Golf U16 Squad news is out and it’s buzzing with youthful verve and all set to square off against Spain’s Under 16s at Seaton Carew on April 5th and 6th, 2025.

This spirited mix of four boys and four girls isn’t just showing off talent—they’re packing personality, guts, and just a hint of mischief to keep the contest lively and unpredictable.

Expect flair, grit, and possibly a few unexpected moments that’ll have spectators grinning as much as gasping.

On the boys’ side, Alex Boyes, Leo Cahi, George Cooper, and Tom Hartshorne are set to make their mark, while Lauren Crump, Ellie Lichtenhein, and twins Annabel and Emily Peaford lead the charge for the girls.

The England Golf U16 Squad is a glimpse into the future of the game—a smart blend of fresh talent and a dash of hard-earned experience.

Over the course of a two-day showdown, you’ll witness four foursomes gracing the mornings (split neatly into two pairs of lads and two pairs of lasses) before the action heats up with eight singles matches in the afternoon.

It’s set to be a weekend full of unexpected turns, much like a round on a mischievous course.

Experience plays a vital role in this lineup. Boyes, Cooper, and Hartshorne have previously represented England U16s against Ireland, while new addition Leo Cahi – a South East Regional Squad member – brings an extra spark.

On the ladies’ side, Crump, Lichtenhein, and Annabel Peaford earned their spots during the 2024 edition that saw Spain claim victory in Valencia.

Emily Peaford, who played in last year’s U16 match versus Switzerland, is equally eager to help the team follow in the footsteps of the 2023 winning side at Hunstanton.

Deputy Performance Director Stephen Burnett summed up the anticipation perfectly:

“The annual U16 match versus Spain is always a fantastic and testing start to the season.

“Spain has always been strong, especially in the early part of the year, but we’re excited to see an experienced group head to the North East.

Alex and Tom are both Teesside-based, so their course knowledge could be vital, while Annabel, Ellie and Lauren can draw on their experience from last year.

“Seaton Carew is an excellent venue and I’m sure it’ll be in fantastic condition ahead of a busy summer. We’re looking forward to the challenge.”

With the stakes soaring and the course primed for a tussle of wit, skill, and strategy, every spectator will be glued to these determined youngsters as they tee off into a season opener that’s shaping up to be downright unforgettable.
