Dom Pedro Vilamoura is about to embark on a dazzling transformation that promises to turn heads across the Algarve.
The storied hotel, part of the Dom Pedro Collection and managed by DETAILS, is slated to join the Hyatt Regency family in 2026 following a top-to-bottom renovation.
If you’ve ever been captivated by the resort’s charm, buckle up—because this makeover is set to elevate Vilamoura’s hospitality scene to an entirely new level.
Now, this is no ordinary coat of paint. An affiliate of DETAILS has struck a franchise deal with an affiliate of Hyatt Hotels Corporation, paving the way for a luxurious Hyatt Regency rebranding.
The renovation will touch just about every nook and cranny: think revamped lobby, reimagined restaurants (complete with live cooking stations and a brand-new BBQ pit), a refreshed terrace bar, and chic new décor throughout.
The team behind the transformation includes interior design gurus at THDP Design and the F&B visionaries at Streetsense—so expect the wow factor to be off the charts.
Conveniently located just 20 minutes from Faro International Airport, Dom Pedro Vilamoura is already a gem of a destination.
But DETAILS is betting big on making this spot a crown jewel of the region. This first phase of improvements is scheduled to wrap up by the end of summer 2025, with the full Hyatt Regency reveal set to dazzle guests by summer 2026.

Francisco Moser, Hospitality CEO at DETAILS – Hospitality, Sports, Leisure, said: “Working with a globally recognised, high-profile market leader like Hyatt enhances the perception of Vilamoura as a must-visit destination in Portugal and Europe.
This rebranding will undoubtedly bring a distinctive and refined element to our stunning portfolio, reflecting the high standards that the brand represents.
“This is an exciting project that will add value to the entire region by attracting audiences who are loyal to the brand.
The renovation of infrastructure, incorporation of valuable insights and the prime location will make this accommodation the perfect combination for our guests.”
From Hyatt’s perspective, they’re all in on this bold undertaking. Nuno Galvão Pinto, Regional Vice President of Development in Europe, went on to say; “This exciting project showcases the flexibility and comprehensive support we provide to owners pursuing a conversion.
We are committed to collaborating closely with the owner and DETAILS throughout the extensive renovations leading to the rebranding.
The project also aligns seamlessly with our expanded leisure strategy and strengthens our leadership in the resort segment across Europe.
We are also excited to continue expanding in Portugal and across Iberia.”
DETAILS, under the ownership of Arrow Global since 2021, has already pumped significant resources into making Vilamoura an elite destination.
Beyond the hotel itself, DETAILS is revamping the entire experience—managing a new sports centre, bringing international showjumping back to the Vilamoura Equestrian Centre, and giving the Old Course (the Algarve’s second oldest golf course) a fresh polish.
In short, keep your eyes on this stretch of Portuguese coastline. With a Hyatt Regency in the pipeline and Dom Pedro Vilamoura set to sparkle even brighter, Vilamoura is fast becoming the go-to spot for domestic and international travellers craving a taste of the good life in the Algarve.
If you’re seeking sunshine, sport, and a dash of luxury, there’s never been a better time to start planning your visit.
