Fast forward to his time at Georgia Tech, Lamprecht was an All-American three times, the 2024 Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Year, and the winner of three collegiate titles.
He ended his senior year as the top-ranked amateur player in the world. Now, Lamprecht has decided to turn professional and join Under Armour’s golf roster.
Under Armour is excited to embark on this significant milestone with Christo, looking forward to creating and designing new, innovative looks and equipment inspired by one of the most intriguing up-and-coming names in golf.
In an interview with LIV Golf Weekly, Lamprecht shared his thoughts on this exciting next step in his journey.
How does it feel to finally be here in your career after years of playing and training?
“Growing up golfing, as a kid all you think about is one day playing in the majors and becoming a professional golfer – now to be living it is incredible.
I’ve been waiting for and working towards this for a long time, and I feel a rejuvenated energy coming out of this decision.”
Why does Under Armour resonate with you?
“I love that Under Armour is such a personal brand. They focus on family, and being a part of the Under Armour team really resonates with me because I’ve always been a very family-oriented person.
My father is really the reason I started playing golf. I’m the youngest in our family and his only son, so we’ve bonded over our love for the game.
It’s nice to see a brand that puts an emphasis on the togetherness of sports.”
What role does your gear play in both your mental and physical game?
“Mentally, it’s nice to know that I have the gear I feel comfortable in. It allows me and my body to do what I want to achieve on the golf course and it gives me that confidence that I’m wearing the right stuff and playing with the right stuff – it gives me a sense of relief and comfortability to keep me confident.”
When it comes to apparel, what are your top priorities – Comfort? Style? Performance? How does Under Armour deliver on these?
“Finding the balance between comfort and performance is something I’ve always struggled with, and it’s been refreshing to see that with Under Armour we can provide the niche line between comfortability and looking good.”
Do you have a favourite Under Armour product? If so, why is it your favourite?
“I love the training wear – all of it. I’ve really liked the Drive Pro shoes; they’ve got some great selections for course play.
When I’m trying to dress it up a bit, I like to wear the Playoff Polos, they’re very breathable and classic.
Even off the course, I live in the Meridian line, especially the workout shirts. I feel like I wear them daily.”
What do you hope to accomplish through your partnership with Under Armour?
“I always hope to leave a place better than I found it, and with Under Armour’s partnership, I hope to continue making strides in the golf and athletic world.
I think Under Armour is also a brand that pushes to make every aspect of play better – when they touch something, it’s like it turns to gold. I’m getting to learn about the new technologies that go into my clothes and my gear and it’s exciting to see the possibilities this partnership will open.”
What advice would you give the next generation of golfers to reach their goals?
“Believing in yourself, staying disciplined, and working hard is always going to be important.
Talent only gets you so far but work ethic and drive will get you to a place where you can perform well and efficiently.”
Lamprecht’s journey to becoming one of the sport’s most promising young talents has been marked by numerous achievements and accolades.
