Well, dust off your clubs because the Smash for Success initiative is swinging back into action for 2025, courtesy of Smash GC.
This isn’t just another day out on the course—it’s a reminder that golf can be a real game-changer, sparking growth, offering mentorship, and opening doors to opportunities that might just change a life.
After a promising pilot in 2023 and a season in 2024 that had us all talking this third run is set to empower junior golfers while giving a hearty nod to the mentors who guide them every step of the way.
Over the years, Smash GC’s Smash for Success initiative has hosted more than 75 junior golfers and 15 coaches from under-represented communities at LIV Golf events across America.
These young athletes get the full backstage pass: up-close access to professional players, mentorship sessions, and life skills workshops that go well beyond the driving range.
Topping the program’s charitable efforts this year are its two signature honours: the Smash for Success Scholarship and the Mentor of the Year Award.
“This isn’t just about golf—it’s about who these kids can become because of it,” said Smash GC Captain and five-time major champion Brooks Koepka.
“We’re here to support the next generation, and that means investing in both the players and the people who shape them.”
The Smash for Success Scholarship is open to junior golfers across the U.S. who boast a GPA of 2.5 or higher, demonstrate leadership both as athletes and in the classroom, and have played at least two seasons of golf.
Those chosen for the scholarship will return the favour by speaking to high school seniors at the first U.S.-based LIV Golf tournament in 2026.
Meanwhile, the Mentor of the Year Award celebrates the remarkable individuals standing behind these promising golfers.
Previous recipients include the 2024 Smash for Success Honouree, Isaac Westbrook, and Jon Gee, the 2024 Smash for Success Mentor Honouree.
In kicking off the 2025 program, Smash GC welcomed local high school students to Trump National Doral, where they enjoyed a Q&A session with Smash GC players followed by a spirited conversation on leadership and life skills.
Applications for both the scholarship and mentor nominations are open now through June 30, 2025. Interested parties can submit scholarship applications or nominate deserving mentors by filling out the forms on Smash GC’s official channels.
Coaches, fans, and community members alike are encouraged to spread the word to deserving students and mentors—together, we’re building the next chapter of golf and the future of the kids who play it.
