Sir Nick Faldo and Betfred British Masters Welcome Back Guide Dogs as Charity Partner

It’s official—tails will wag and hearts will melt once again at the British Masters, as Guide Dogs return as the tournament’s Official Charity Partner.

After a hugely successful stint at The Belfry in 2024, where £60,000 was raised to support those living with sight loss, the much-loved pooches will be back in 2025—bringing their four-legged charm to the fairways of one of the DP World Tour’s most iconic venues.

This isn’t just a feel-good sideshow. The British Masters, hosted for the third consecutive year by six-time Major winner Sir Nick Faldo, kicks off the DP World Tour’s Back 9 and serves as the final hurdle for hopefuls chasing a spot on Luke Donald’s European Ryder Cup squad. That makes this year’s edition equal parts pedigree and pressure.

And for Sir Nick, the choice of charity hits close to home. “I am thrilled to welcome Guide Dogs back to the Betfred British Masters as the Official Charity again in 2025,” said Faldo.

“It was great to learn more about the fantastic work Guide Dogs do during last year’s event and I am so grateful to everybody, particularly our title partner Betfred, for their generosity as we raised a huge £60,000 which makes a real difference to those living with sight loss in the UK.”

Guide Dogs is no stranger to long walks and uphill climbs—founded in 1934, the charity has been helping people with sight loss live independently ever since. Their work relies almost entirely on public donations, and once again, the British Masters will be playing a key role in bolstering their mission.

Andrew Lennox, CEO at Guide Dogs, couldn’t be happier. “We’re absolutely delighted that Guide Dogs is once again the official charity partner of the Betfred British Masters. Last year’s partnership made a real difference, raising vital awareness and funds to help people living with sight loss live the life they choose.”

It wouldn’t be a proper Betfred bash without a few big-money stunts. The bookmaker is stepping up again in 2025, pledging £500 for every eagle and another £500 for every pro who dares to drive the iconic 10th green on the Brabazon Course. And here’s the real crowd-pleaser: £50,000 will be donated for the first hole-in-one on the devilish par-three 14th—the same hole Faldo aced during the ’93 Ryder Cup. Talk about déjà woof.

“Several Guide Dogs joined us at the Belfry last year and their displays in the fans’ village were a terrific addition to the event,” said Betfred boss Fred Done. “I’m delighted that Sir Nick has decided to go with Guide Dogs once again and let’s hope the players are able to raise a good few quid.”

Fans can also get involved through a host of interactive challenges. The much-loved Long-Putt Challenge and the Iconic Shots Simulator will return to the PGA Village, while a “Drive the Green” simulator will tempt spectators over in the Brabazon Village.

A £3 donation is all it takes to play—and all proceeds go straight to Guide Dogs. With donation points scattered across The Belfry, generosity will be as unavoidable as a double-cross off the first tee.

And if the charity work wasn’t enough, the tournament’s competitive stakes are sky-high. With this being the final counting event for European Ryder Cup Qualification, fans can expect fireworks as hopefuls jostle for position.

Already confirmed are U.S. Vice Captain Brandt Snedeker, reigning champ Niklas Nørgaard, and Major-winner Matt Fitzpatrick. The field is shaping up to be as stacked as a butcher’s breakfast.

Of course, The Belfry needs no introduction. This year’s British Masters will mark the 22nd DP World Tour event held at the Sutton Coldfield sanctuary, whose storied past includes hosting the 1979 Lada English Golf Classic, won by none other than Seve Ballesteros.

Tickets for the 2025 Betfred British Masters are already flying off the shelves, with General Admission, Ticket+ and Premium Experiences all in high demand.

For those keen to witness world-class golf—and maybe even pet a future guide dog—head to the official DP World Tour website to book your spot.
