Golf Saudi’s Aramco Korea Championship Welcomes Sung Hyun Park Home

Sung Hyun Park will make a triumphant homecoming when she headlines Golf Saudi’s inaugural Aramco Korea Championship, set to unfold from May 9–11 at the New Korea Country Club.

Sung Hyun Park, a former World No. 1 and two‑time major champion, returns to Korean soil for the first time in a Golf Saudi event—sure to electrify local fans and inject fresh momentum into the 2024 Ladies European Tour (LET) season.

Homecoming Hero

For Sung Hyun Park, familiar fairways and roaring crowds are the perfect stage.

“It’s always an honour to play at home, and to do so in a global event like this is even more meaningful,” said Park.

“The Aramco Korea Championship is such a fantastic addition to the Korean golf calendar, and I can’t wait to be part of it, especially with the team and individual elements.”

Her powerful swing and fearless approach have earned her seven LPGA Tour victories, including the 2017 U.S. Women’s Open and the 2018 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, making her one of Korea’s most influential golf exports.

A Star‑Studded Lineup

Joining Park in Seoul is a procession of South Korea’s finest. World No. 13 Hyo Joo Kim returns to defend her title after a commanding three‑stroke victory at last year’s event.

Between Park’s majestic tee shots and Kim’s precision iron play, spectators can expect fireworks both on the leaderboard and in the gallery.

Format with Flair

Golf Saudi isn’t content to simply transplant a traditional tournament; they’ve reimagined it.

Over the first two days, 26 teams of four professionals will compete for a hefty $500,000 team prize.

Then, in a dramatic shift, the field resets for Sunday’s final round, where the individual champion captures the lion’s share of a $1.5 million purse—among the richest on the LET.

Growing Women’s Golf

Organised by Golf Saudi, the Aramco Korea Championship is more than a spectacle; it’s a statement.

By bringing world‑class women’s golf to new markets, Golf Saudi aims to empower female athletes, foster community engagement, and inspire the next generation of players in Korea and beyond.

Anticipation Builds in Seoul

With Sung Hyun Park’s home debut, an all‑star Korean roster and an innovative three‑day format, the Aramco Korea Championship promises a week of high drama, athletic excellence and cultural celebration.
