Aramco Korea Championship 2025: Star-Studded Field, New Format, $2M Prize

Aramco Korea is set to take centre stage in women’s golf, and if you’re anywhere near Seoul this May, you won’t want to miss a minute of the action.

The newly named Aramco Korea Championship—formerly the Aramco Team Series presented by PIF—arrives at the ultra-exclusive New Korea Country Club from 9–11 May 2025, boasting a bigger prize fund, a thrilling revamped format, and a star-packed lineup featuring standouts from both the Ladies European Tour (LET) and the LPGA.

Last year, Korea’s own Hyo-Joo Kim stole the show at this venue, shooting a remarkable 10-under-par on her event debut.

Golf Saudi ambassador Kang relishes the opportunity to play as part of a team once more

Her legions of “shooting star” supporters lit up the course, proving that local fans set the bar for enthusiasm.

This time, all eyes will be on Major champion Danielle Kang, who headlined a victorious squad in 2024 and is keen to go back-to-back in front of the famously energetic Seoul galleries.

“I’ve said it many times before, but I love competing as part of a team. The team format makes it even more fun because we get to share the experience, push each other, and celebrate together,” Kang says.

“Last year was such a great memory, and I can’t wait to be back, playing alongside some of the best in the world and hopefully I’ll get to lift another trophy.

“I’m very thankful for Golf Saudi for consistently elevating women’s golf and creating opportunities for players like me to compete in team and individual formats.”

That spirit of camaraderie will be on full display again, but this time, the Aramco Korea Championship is flipping the script by pivoting to an all-professional team setup—no amateurs in the mix.

Over two days of team play, a $500,000 prize purse is up for grabs. After that, the chase for the $1.5 million individual prize kicks into high gear as the final round unfolds.

By doubling the overall event purse to a cool $2 million, organisers are signalling that this tournament remains a landmark stop on the LET calendar.

It not only rewards top-tier players but also underscores Golf Saudi’s commitment to making a significant splash in the women’s game—one that offers more opportunities and an electrifying format worthy of the world’s best golfers.

As more names get added to the star-studded field, anticipation is running sky-high.

The Aramco Korea Championship is on track to become the crown jewel of women’s golf in Seoul, and fans can expect three days of world-class competition, remarkable teamwork, and pulse-pounding drama.
