Andy Murray, Ben Stokes and John Terry Join Star-Studded BMW PGA Pro-Am Line-Up at Wentworth

It’s not every day you see a Wimbledon champ, a cricketing World Cup hero, and the man who once captained Chelsea into the promised land of five Premier League titles sharing a tee box.

But that’s precisely the scene set for the BMW PGA Pro-Am on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 – the unofficial but undeniably glamorous launch party for the Rolex Series showdown at Wentworth Club.

Yes, the BMW PGA Pro-Am is back, and the celebrity wattage is enough to short-circuit a scoreboard. Andy Murray, Ben Stokes and John Terry – three of Britain’s most decorated sporting exports – are confirmed to swap their usual stomping grounds for the hallowed fairways of Wentworth.

The Pro-Am, part of the BMW PGA Championship running from September 9-14, has built a reputation for delivering elite golf with a sprinkling of showbiz. This year looks no different.

Tickets are flying faster than a Murray serve, with organisers urging fans to book now or face watching highlights through jealous tears.

Murray returns to the event after making his Pro-Am debut last year alongside fellow Scot Robert MacIntyre, shortly after hanging up his racquet post-Paris Olympics.

The three-time Grand Slam champion and Olympic gold medallist also held the World No.1 tennis ranking for 41 weeks.

Turns out, when Andy serves, he doesn’t mess about – even if it’s a dimpled ball and not a fuzzy one.

Stokes, meanwhile, is no stranger to pressure – whether it’s rescuing England at Lord’s or teeing off in front of a gallery who remembers that six in the 2019 Cricket World Cup final.

After partnering Ryder Cup Captain Luke Donald last year, the England Test skipper will once again try his hand at the gentler, if no less cruel, art of golf.

And then there’s John Terry. Chelsea’s most decorated player ever, a five-time Premier League champion, and a man who knows a thing or two about tackling tight fairways.

This will be JT’s fourth Celebrity Pro-Am appearance – clearly, the man loves a walk in the park when there are bunkers involved.

“The BMW PGA Championship Celebrity Pro-Am is a fun-filled day for all the family and a great way to see these guys up close in a completely different environment,” said Darrell O’Hora, Championship Director.

“We are very excited with the announcement of three of Britain’s most recognisable sports stars and we will be able to reveal further names in the coming weeks.”

As ever, Wentworth’s accessibility remains one of its aces. Less than an hour from central London, it’s ideal for spectators looking for an easy escape from the city. BMW Group owners will enjoy preferred on-site parking (naturally), and free shuttle services will run from Virginia Water railway station.

Park & Ride services will also be in full swing from Broomhall Farm in Sunningdale and Royal Ascot Racecourse, with day parking set at £10 (£15 if you’re the optimistic “I’ll pay on the day” type). Season car passes are available for £30 – just don’t forget to buy in advance.

General Admission tickets are nearly gone for the entire week, with Saturday on the brink of a sell-out and Sunday not far behind.

Those craving a bit more comfort and view advantage should know that Ticket+ and Grandstand passes have already sold out for the weekend.

A handful of Premium Experience packages are still up for grabs, if you fancy mixing champagne flutes with clubface grooves.

So, whether you’re in it for the golf, the gossip, or just to see Andy Murray trying to read a 12-foot putt like a Centre Court bounce, the 2025 BMW PGA Pro-Am is shaping up to be unmissable.
