In a move that promises to turn junior golf into something just short of a mini Ryder Cup with training wheels, the British Junior Golf Tour (BJGT) has announced a headline-grabbing partnership with simulator software powerhouse Awesome Golf.
The tie-up sees Awesome Golf become the principal sponsor of the BJGT and take centre stage as the main event sponsor of this summer’s BJGT European Open.
If you’re not familiar, the British Junior Golf Tour is where golf’s next big thing is currently flailing around in oversized polos and hitting fades that accidentally find the fairway.
But don’t let the baby-faced assassins fool you — this is a DP World Tour-approved Golf Development Programme, and it’s quickly becoming the proving ground for Europe’s elite young players.
“Hundreds of young people and their families take part in the BJGT each month, which shows how valuable this tour has become,” says Gavin Hamer, founder of Awesome Golf.
“Having the chance to meet new people and become part of the golf community are just as important as building confidence and skill levels. We are partnering with the BJGT because we believe that what they are doing is crucial and we are proud to play our part in these young people’s journey.”
The BJGT caters to boys and girls aged 5 to 18, offering age-specific divisions and yardages, which basically means no 17-year-old is out there flexing on a 6-year-old.
Events span the UK and Europe, culminating in the 3-day BJGT European Open, returning for its second swing at glory from August 11th to 13th at Le Touquet Golf Resort in Northern France — a venue so chic you half expect the bunkers to serve wine. Entries close July 1st, so act faster than a Bryson backswing if you want in.
For Awesome Golf, this is more than a logo on a leaderboard. Their simulator software isn’t just about swiping at a screen like it owes you money — it’s a genuinely engaging training and entertainment platform.
With driving ranges, arcade-style games, real golf courses, and five tee positions (yes, five), it’s designed to help junior golfers enjoy the game while sharpening their skills.
In short, it makes golf fun — and if you’ve ever walked 18 with a sulky 10-year-old, you’ll know how much of a miracle that is.
The software’s three game modes cater to all abilities, from nervous beginners to those precocious 12-year-olds already asking about shaft stiffness.
And with junior-optimised tees that kindly remove hazards for shorter hitters, the setup keeps it light-hearted without sacrificing the competitive edge.
BJGT Director Neil Randall adds, “The British Junior Golf Tour has junior golf at its heart and we aim to increase and improve the opportunities for young golfers to show just how good they are.
We are proud to be playing a small role in establishing each youngster’s lifelong passion for golf, which is why we are so pleased to be partnering with Awesome Golf.
They have created a fantastic platform to play, develop, and learn at the same time, and we know that our players will love it.”
Whether you’re raising the next Rory or just trying to keep your child from decapitating garden gnomes with a sand wedge, this partnership is a real win for families who want to grow the game.
Awesome Golf software is available now on iOS, Android, and PC, with a 14-day free trial that might just save your living room carpet.

So, hats off to the BJGT and Awesome Golf — the future of golf might still be wearing braces, but it’s got one heck of a swing.
