The Senior PGA Championship is packing its bags and heading to Florida’s Gulf Coast, and it’s not just stopping in for a visit — it’s moving in for a three-year stay at The Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, beginning with the 2026 edition set for April 16–19.
This marks a homecoming of sorts for the Championship, which made Florida its springtime headquarters for six decades before wandering the fairways of the nation.
Now, with palms swaying and gators lurking, it returns to the Sunshine State with a venue that’s as bold as the names behind it.
“The PGA of America is proud to take the next three editions of the Senior PGA Championship to one of Florida’s finest venues in The Concession Golf Club,” said PGA of America President Don Rea Jr., PGA Master Professional and Owner/Operator of Augusta Ranch Golf Club (Arizona).
“Designed by two icons of our game — Jack and Tony —, The Concession will provide a fantastic test for the world’s best senior players. We cannot wait for the first Senior PGA Championship in Bradenton next April.”
That’s Jack as in Nicklaus, and Tony as in Jacklin — two men who helped redefine Ryder Cup camaraderie in 1969 with The Concession heard ’round the golfing world.
Jack gave Tony a 2-foot putt, halving the match and creating the first tie in Cup history. Decades later, their spirit of sportsmanship is etched into every bunker and blade of Bermuda grass at the course they co-designed.
And now that patch of Bradenton real estate is about to welcome a parade of icons who’ve made careers out of defying age and gravity.
The Senior PGA Championship, golf’s longest-running major for players aged 50 and up, began its march through time back in 1937 at Augusta National.
Since then, it’s crowned titans like Sarazen, Snead, Palmer, Nicklaus, Trevino, Watson, Montgomerie, and Langer — all names fit for marble plaques and misty-eyed documentaries.
With a 156-player field made up of Major winners, Ryder Cup captains, Hall of Famers, and the top PGA of America club professionals, this Championship doesn’t just feature legends — it manufactures moments.
“I am happy and excited that the Senior PGA Championship is coming to The Concession Golf Club,” said Nicklaus, who won the title himself in 1991.
“It’s quite a compliment to The Concession and Bruce Cassidy, who, along with a passionate membership, has worked very hard to create a world-class club anchored by a world-class golf course.”
Nicklaus isn’t just waxing lyrical. The Concession has earned its stripes, hosting everything from the NCAA Men’s and Women’s Championships to the 2021 World Golf Championships. And if you think the course rolls over for anyone, think again.
“With an interesting blend of trees, water and Florida landscape, The Concession is a tremendous golf course, and a challenging one,” Nicklaus added. “There is at least one drivable par-4, and strategic par-5s that will make you think… once they get the ball on the green, let’s just say the game is not over.”
Indeed, this is not a layout for faint-hearted fade hitters or those needing GPS to find the fairway. It’s a strategic beast — softened, perhaps, but still capable of biting your ankles and confidence in equal measure.
The club’s journey from bold idea to elite host hasn’t gone unnoticed. Named Golf Digest’s “Best New Private Course in America” in 2006, The Concession remains one of Florida’s top-10 courses, with a reputation for mixing Southern hospitality with major-championship grit.
“We are incredibly honored and excited to host three Senior PGA Championships beginning next April,” said Bruce Cassidy Sr., President of The Concession Golf Club.
“Since opening in 2006, The Concession has quickly cemented itself as one of Florida’s premier clubs, and we look forward to welcoming the best senior golfers from around the world to The Concession and Florida’s West Coast.”
This multi-year agreement not only brings the Senior PGA Championship back to familiar turf — it reaffirms the enduring legacy of golf’s elder statesmen and the places that still challenge them.
And in Bradenton, just a stone’s throw from the coast and a whisper from history, The Concession is ready to make its mark — not just with perfect greens, but with unforgettable golf.
