LIV Golf Korea produced another meticulous display from Bryson DeChambeau on Saturday.
The Crushers GC captain reaches the final round of LIV Golf Korea presented by Coupang Play at 13-under-par after a second straight bogey-free 66, good for a record-setting third consecutive 36-hole lead on the circuit.
Perfect Through Two
DeChambeau has dominated Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea with a blend of 342.2-yard power and laser-sharp accuracy, finding 25 of 28 fairways.
The four-shot margin over Cleeks GC veteran Richard Bland is his largest on LIV Golf, yet the American is still searching for a first wire-to-wire finish after falling from similar positions in Miami and Mexico City.
“Just be a kid out there. Have a lot of fun. Go back to my roots. Just get it done.”
Final-Round Playing Partners
Sunday’s final pairing pits DeChambeau against 52-year-old Bland, the reigning U.S. Senior Open champion who understands the scale of the task.
“This kind of course is tailor-made for him,” Bland said. “I’ve probably got to shoot something in double digits to get anywhere near him.”
Stinger GC’s Dean Burmester and Smash GC’s Jason Kokrak share third at 9-under, with Talor Gooch, Graeme McDowell and Brooks Koepka also within striking distance.
Team Leaderboard
Smash GC holds command of the team competition at 21-under, six clear of Torque GC, RangeGoats GC and the Crushers.
“Along with myself, I don’t think BK, Graeme or Gooch have gotten off to a very good start [to the 2025 season] at all team-wise, individual-wise, kind of collectively,” Kokrak said. “So, looking to turn that around tomorrow.”
Notable Performances
Dean Burmester: four hole-outs in two rounds, including Friday’s ace—self-proclaimed
“King of the hole-outs this week.”
Anirban Lahiri: a flagstick-deflected approach found water on No. 9, sparking a 7-over 79.
“How brutal this game can be to anybody,” Burmester said. “A head-spinner. If that was me, I think I would’ve jumped in the lake.”
“He’s a good friend of mine and we get along well,” he said. “It was tough to see him go through that today.”
Jon Rahm: eagle on Friday’s 18th keyed a 66 on Saturday; tied ninth to keep his perfect LIV top-10 streak alive.
Charles Howell III: early five-birdie burst led to his own 66, best showing since returning from injury.
Mito Pereira: snapped a 12-round run without red numbers with Saturday’s 71, boosting Torque GC.
What’s at Stake
Besides individual glory, DeChambeau could claim a team title for the Crushers, a prospect that resonates with local galleries.
“Given that we’re a global team, it would be awesome to win here in Korea,” DeChambeau said.
“The fans are great. I think the Korean fans like the Crushers. I know they like the Iron Heads a little bit more. Hopefully we’re a close second, and hopefully we can give them some fun for tomorrow.”
Even if the trophies elude him, dinner plans are set.
“I love Korean barbecue, galbi beef, marinated beef is unbelievable,” he said. “I love the experience.
We’re probably going to go there tonight. I think we are going to go there tonight with the team and have a great time. Korean barbecue is amazing, and I’ll forever come back here for that.”
Sunday Outlook
DeChambeau has led after 36 holes five times in LIV Golf and has yet to finish the job.
A composed closing round would rewrite that narrative and deliver a statement win on Asian soil.
With Smash GC pressing for its first team victory of 2025 and Bland, Burmester and company lurking, the stage is set for a decisive final-day duel at LIV Golf Korea.
