Turkish Airlines Open Back on DP World Tour: Luke Donald Tees Up in Antalya

European Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald is back in the spotlight as the Turkish Airlines Open makes its grand return to the DP World Tour schedule from May 8–11, 2025, at Regnum Carya Golf & Spa Resort in Antalya.

Fans will be delighted to learn that tickets are now on sale here, offering everything from single-day passes to VIP four-day experiences.

It’s been over a decade since Donald teed off in Türkiye, but the former world number one wasted no time signing up for the challenge.

As Europe’s first repeat Ryder Cup captain since Bernard Gallacher’s runs in the early ’90s, Donald has already etched his name in history—and now he’s aiming to add another chapter on the Turquoise Coast.

A Captain Returns to Play

Donald, who last competed at this event in 2014, reflected on the occasion with genuine enthusiasm:

“It’s been more than ten years since I last teed it up in Türkiye, and I’m really pleased to be able to add the Turkish Airlines Open to my schedule.

This event was a fixture on the Race to Dubai for many years, most recently with some impressive European wins, and I’m looking forward to competing at Regnum Carya as the event returns to the DP World Tour.”

His words carry particular weight: Donald was the first player ever to top both the DP World Tour and PGA TOUR money lists in the same season (2011) and has claimed seven DP World Tour titles over his career.

As he prepares to lead Team Europe once more this September, his return to competitive play in Antalya promises both star power and a statement of intent.

A History of Thrills on the Race to Dubai

From 2013 through 2019, the Turkish Airlines Open was a highlight on the Race to Dubai, showcasing dramatic finishes under the lights.

Eight-time Tour winner Tyrrell Hatton clinched the last edition in 2019 via a playoff, while fellow Ryder Cup stalwarts Justin Rose (2017, 2018), Thorbjørn Olesen (2016) and Victor Dubuisson (2013, 2015) have all lifted the trophy. Four-time major champion Brooks Koepka also stamped his mark in 2014.

Title Partner and Global Reach

Think of Turkish Airlines as golf’s grand tour impresario, swooping back into the spotlight with the Turkish Golf Federation and reclaiming its crown as title sponsor after a brief timeout.

And they’re not content to merely play with the big boys—through the Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup, they’re nurturing the grassroots game like a benevolent overlord, orchestrating the world’s largest amateur series across 117 tee boxes in 73 countries this year.
