Mexico City’s Club Golf de Chapultepec, former home of the World Golf Championships, will host its first major tournament in years when LIV visits Mexico’s capital later this week.
Although Bryson wasn’t able to bring home the green jacket, LIV was well represented in Augusta with two Top 10 and three Top 15 finishes from Patrick Reed, Bryson DeChambeau, Jon Rahm, Tyrrell Hatton, and Bubba Watson!
The next two weeks see LIV return to regular season action first in Mexico City and then Incheon, South Korea (May 2 – 4).
The points towards the individual championship are up for the taking and several big-name stars are seeking top finishes to bolster their claim to a spot in The Lock Zone.
Club Golf de Chapultepec is generally a high-scoring course. Patrick Reed won the last WGC here in 2020 with a score of 18-under par, and Tiger Woods set the course record for both final cumulative score and daily score with 261 and an astonishing 25-under par back in 2006 and 2002, respectively.
We are proud to bring you our LIV Fantasy rankings for the next iteration of LIV Mexico City! Let’s examine our picks for the five groups.
Picks by Group
- Jon Rahm – There are so many great options in Group 1, and so I’m going old reliable, the man who has never finished worse than 10th place, the one, the only Jon Rahm. Rahm couldn’t recapture his 2023 championship form in Augusta but showed resiliency by turning an over-par score at the cut into a T14 finish with a final score of 3-under par. I don’t think you can go wrong with Phil, Sergio, Bryson, or Niemann here, so I’ll take the safe bet in Rahm.
- Patrick Reed – LIV’s top player in the 2025 Masters comes back to Club Golf de Chapultepec, where he previously won the 2020 and 2014 WGC. The runners-up to those wins? Bryson DeChambeau and Bubba Watson, two of LIV’s finest had tremendous showings at The Masters as well, coming in T5 and T14, respectively. Reed is in top form, recently coming in at T7 at an extremely difficult Miami course earlier this month. Patrick will once again seek that elusive first win on LIV, he is Group 2’s must-play premier option.
- Bubba Watson – Watson was looking good early in the season before going sideways during the Asian road trip and finishing a disappointing T33 at The Blue Monster, a course I had hoped would get his season back on track. Watson’s tremendous performance at The Masters looked like the RangeGoats captain had turned the clock back by a decade. That performance gives me hope that Watson is well on his way to a Top 10 finish this season. Watson may not have the best results recently, but Group 3 is a weak field. Examining the leaderboards from tournaments past, Watson usually has his best day on Friday and then tends to taper off, so unless he’s on a tear, consider swapping him out on Sunday.
- Charles Howell III – As always, Group 4 presents a tough choice due to a lack of good options. The obvious standout is Charles Howell III who was reliably consistent before his leg fracture last season. Howell, like Gooch, has been getting consistently better and placed T12 in Miami, helping the Crushers secure a second-place podium finish.
- Talor Gooch – The 2023 Individual Champion has slowed significantly since his championship season, but there’s reason to hope for a 2025 turnaround. For one, Gooch has placed consistently better in the past three tournaments since Adelaide where he bottomed out at the T51 position. His last three starts? 49 (Hong Kong), T29 (Singapore), and 12 (Miami).
Picks for Teams

- 4 Aces – Back-to-back third-place podium finishes in Singapore and Miami have brought the 4 Aces back to respectability after a horrific season start in Riyadh. I like Patrick Reed to win the tournament and trust that DJ will put together at least two good rounds as the captain, like Reed, has won two WGC at Club Golf de Chapultepec. The team is rounded out by a resurgent HV3 who has quietly snuck into 17th place in the individual standings.
- Legion XIII – Uncomfortable with the 4 Aces since their last win came back in 2023? Trust in the reliable duo of Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton who didn’t get what they wanted this year in Augusta, but had great showings representing LIV. Tom McKibbin has been having an incredible rookie season and very well may challenge to win a tournament this year.
Remember to set your fantasy roster before Friday morning when LIV returns to action in Mexico City! The action begins at noon on April 25th.
Mexico City is on Central Time Zone, and action will commence at 1:05 CST. The tournament will be broadcast on Fox Sports 1 & 2.
