LIV Hong Kong will be a tough act to follow up. The last tournament featured a three-way tie leading into Championship Sunday and a battle between teams that saw first place change hands a number of times.
Singapore hopes that it can be even more exciting as the golfers take the field one month before The Masters.
Last week we learned that Phil Mickelson is officially back and a real threat to win.
Sergio Garcia’s Fireballs won their second tournament in a row and look for LIV’s first three-peat since the 4 Aces’ achievement in the inaugural 2022 season.
We are proud to bring you our LIV Fantasy rankings for the third iteration of LIV Singapore! Let’s examine our picks for the five groups.
Picks by Group
- Jon Rahm –Three straight top-ten finishes and less than half a point out of first place overall, there’s no better sure thing than Jon Rahm. With The Masters one month away, and having perhaps the best chance to win amongst the LIV field, expect Rahm to up his game even more than he already has.
- Phil Mickelson – This is the moment us long-time LIV fans have been waiting for. Yes, Phil Mickelson has a legitimate shot at winning his first tournament in four years. His 3rd place finish marked the most anticipated podium finish since Sergio Garcia won in Andalucia last season. Phil has historically performed well in Singapore, finishing T22 in 2024 and 15th in 2023. If Mickelson had been available in Group 1 I would have chosen him over Jon Rahm, luckily both are available to score you a ton of fantasy points.
- Thomas Pieters – Pieters has a solid track record at Singapore finishing 23rd overall in 2023 and T5 last season. There’s a lot of golfers in the field that look more tempting here but you can snag most of them in Group 5.
- Matthew Wolff – Group 4 is by far the most difficult choice of the week. There is no obvious choice like Patrick Reed was in Hong Kong, rather you must select between Matt Wolff, who finished T30 last season in Singapore, or Mito Pereira who finished significantly worse in 2024 but had a decent showing last week in Hong Kong. These two are about as hot and cold as they come, but Wolff’s T15 finish in Riyadh and the fact that he’s far more unpredictable makes him my choice for Group 4. Having said that, see my advice at the end of the Group 5 selection.
- Louis Oosthuizen – The Stinger captain has had a rough go of it to start the 2024 season but remains one of the superior golfers amongst the field. His T20 finish in Hong Kong suggests good things are about to come his way. Last season Louis finished T22 in Singapore with a total score of 6-under par. Swap Matt Wolff out and put Louis in on Day One as your fourth starter.
Picks for Team
- Fireballs – I’m done underestimating this team. Sergio Garcia has constructed one of the most reliable winners in LIV Golf’s short history and the Fireballs are on a hot streak. Looking to make it three team wins in a row; this squad is firing on all cylinders with three of four members currently in the top ten. The Fireballs finished T2 in the 2024 iteration of Singapore, so again, when we consider past performance in addition to current form, the Fireballs are 100% the correct choice this weekend.
- Legion XIII – Rahm’s squad could have had a legitimate chance to win Hong Kong if not for a disastrous Day One from Caleb Surratt. The youngster rebounded the next two days, but the damage had been done. I expect Surratt to bounce back this weekend and for Tyrrell Hatton to set himself straight as he’s capable of placing top ten in every single tournament. If you think Jon Rahm can break the course record in Singapore and put together three unbelievable performances in a row, Legion XIII is good bet if you don’t think the Fireballs can pull off a three-peat.
Remember to set your fantasy roster before Thursday night when LIV returns to action in Singapore!
