PING Junior Masters Returns to Close House with Nine Qualifying Events in 2025

Close House PING Junior Masters 2025 is making its grand return, and it’s bigger than a hole-in-one celebration.

Junior golfers, it’s time to shake off the cobwebs from your clubs because this is one event you simply can’t afford to miss.

Fresh from bagging the coveted Junior Golf Programme of the Year at the 2024 Golf Course Awards, Close House is once again unfurling the green carpet for the next generation of golf prodigies—those youngsters ready to hit drives that would make even the pros smile.

From its humble beginnings in 2017—when it made a sparkling debut alongside the British Masters at Close House—the PING Junior Masters has skyrocketed in popularity.

With formidable support from Lee Westwood and PING Europe, this series has become one of the most inviting and dynamic junior golf events in the UK.

Westwood, who originally helped forge the event, remains deeply devoted to nurturing the next generation, ensuring that fresh faces get a crack at competitive golf.

“Ahead of the 2017 British Masters event we were keen to offer children the chance to experience the tournament, and it was a highlight of an amazing week,” commented Lee Westwood, official Attached Tour Professional at Close House.

“I am delighted that Close House and PING who I have worked with for so many years have continued to create this special program.

I attended the final of the Junior Masters last year and it was amazing to see so many children enjoying the experience.”

The Close House PING Junior Masters 2025 series will feature nine qualifying events spread across seven UK counties.

Perennial favourites—like Ladybank in Fife, Scotland, and Worksop in Nottinghamshire—are set to welcome back excited participants, while Alwoodley in Leeds, England, fresh from hosting the R&A Girls’ and Boys’ Amateur Championship, joins the mix to add even more prestige to the lineup.

This season’s schedule is a real treasure trove of top-notch courses—each one offering our young talents a competitive proving ground to sharpen their swings and ignite their passion for the game.

Each qualifying event runs off nett scores, casting a wider net for ambitious young golfers of varying abilities.

From each location, participants compete within three age groups: 12 and under, 15 and under, and 18 and under.

The top finishers—one girl and two boys per age group—will secure their spots in the grand final at Close House on 28th October 2025.

There, they’ll be treated to a tour-level experience on the Championship Colt Course, a fitting stage for the culmination of months of competition.

“Close House are committed to offering a golfing pathway for junior golfers,” said Jonathan Lupton, Managing Director of Close House.

“This initiative is incredible, offering competitive experience for aspiring junior golfers whilst enabling us to provide grassroots coaching at local schools courtesy of the support shown by PING.

The whole team at Close House are proud of the Junior Masters and we were honoured to achieve recognition last year at The Golf Course Awards.”

PING Europe is once again in the thick of things, giving its unwavering backing by supplying prizes and making the finale a memorable occasion for every aspiring competitor.

“The Junior Masters is one of our favourite series to support,” notes Dave Fanning, European Marketing Director at PING Europe.

“The Junior Masters is one of our favourite series to support, and it is brilliant to have such an inclusive opportunity for juniors to develop their game.”

Adding to the tournament’s value is a vital promise: the PING Junior Masters will provide free golf coaching to over a thousand schoolchildren each year.

In a bid to spread the love of golf far and wide, the Close House PGA Teaching Team is taking their expertise on the road, delivering top-notch coaching sessions in everything from the classroom to the hallowed halls of the Close House Academy.

Their mission is as much about kindling excitement as it is about building skill, ensuring that the next wave of golfers steps onto the tee box not just with confidence, but with a deep, lasting passion for the sport.
