Scotty Cameron Phantom Putter: 2025 New Models Bring Precision and Style to the Greens

If you’re in the market for a putter that performs with all the finesse of a PGA Tour ace—and let’s be honest, who isn’t—Titleist has you covered.

Beginning February 14, 2025, golf shops across the UK and Ireland will showcase the latest evolution in mallet magnificence: the new Scotty Cameron Phantom Putter lineup.

Two New Models: Phantom 5.2 and Phantom 7.2

Right out of Scotty Cameron’s workshop come the Phantom 5.2 and 7.2, both boasting that familiar wingback mallet shape while sporting a fresh I-beam-style plumbing neck.

This design tweak is more than just eye candy—it provides a slightly different toe flow from the mid-bend or jet neck setups in the current family, translating into extra confidence when you’re lining up that nerve-jangling ten-footer for birdie.

As Scotty Cameron himself says, “The plumbing neck is a familiar, confidence-inspiring design to so many players, so its inclusion on the Phantom 5 and 7 putters is a natural evolution.”

Left-Handed Lineup

Southpaws, rejoice! For the first time, three stalwarts in the Phantom family come in left-handed versions. The compact Phantom 5 mallet, known for its near-face balanced design and mid-bend shaft, now slides comfortably into your left-handed grip.

Meanwhile, the Phantom 11 debuts in a high-MOI, face-balanced edition, and its sibling, the Phantom 11 Long Design, extends to 38 inches with a stiffer mid-bend shaft and heavier head. In plainer English, these models help keep your hands quiet so your shoulders can rock that smooth, pendulum-like stroke.

Scotty Cameron on the New Additions

“The Phantom 5.2 and 7.2 models come directly from our team’s work on the worldwide professional tours with some of the most discerning players in the game,” notes Cameron.

“As the demand for mallet putters has increased, so have the requests for different configurations of our models.

We felt this plumbing neck setup, along with more left-handed options, opens the door for golfers seeking that perfect combination of blade-like feel and mallet-like forgiveness.”

Austie Rollinson: R&D Insights

Austie Rollinson, Titleist’s Senior Director of Putter R&D, “The combination of the plumbing neck and our Phantom mallet shapes has become increasingly popular on tour, and we’ve learned a lot about its benefits from listening to players like Justin Thomas, Cameron Young and Davis Riley who have used this style of putter on Tour.

It’s a great setup for players coming from a blade into a mallet, or really for any golfer looking for blade-like feel and alignment with the benefits of a larger head.”
