Titleist Launches GT1 Driver, Fairway, and Hybrid

When the geniuses at Titleist set out to enhance their “1” series metalwoods, they listened intently to golfers of all stripes.

The goal was clear: deliver higher launch, blazing ball speeds, and a reassuring dose of forgiveness.

Enter the all-new Titleist GT1 Metalwoods—driver, fairway, and hybrid—built to help moderate-speed players elevate their trajectory and find more consistency, without alienating those who simply crave a higher launch and mid-spin performance.

A Fresh Take on “Lighter, Faster, Higher”

Titleist GT1 Metals

Designed for moderate swing speeds yet configurable for a standard setup, the GT1 driver, fairways, and hybrids feature the deepest centre of gravity (CG) among the GT series.

According to Stephanie Luttrell, Director of Titleist Metalwood Product Development, the feedback was resounding: ramp up the launch, maintain optimal spin, and watch that consistency and distance grow.

GT1 Driver: Where Aerodynamics Meet Forgiveness

Just like its GT siblings, the GT1 driver showcases a Seamless Thermoform Crown fashioned from Titleist’s proprietary Matrix Polymer (PMP).

This innovative crown shaves weight without compromising the classic Titleist feel or that satisfying sound at impact.

Inside, you’ll find a Split Mass Construction, designed to optimize speed, spin, and stability, particularly for the player needing extra launch.

The shape is shallower and more aerodynamic than other GT models, translating into faster clubhead speeds.

Combine that with a robust titanium Speed Ring and VFT (Variable Face Thickness) technology, and you’ve got a driver engineered to be hot off the face—even on those “oops” hits.

“We refined the crown and sole curves to make it even faster through the air,” Luttrell says. “And with our Speed Ring and VFT technology, GT1 is just as quick off the face as it is through the air.”

Driver Specs at a Glance

  • 460cc head in 9.0°, 10.0°, and 12.0° lofts
  • Available in lightweight and standard builds
  • Fujikura Air Speeder Next Gen shaft options, with Project X and Mitsubishi Tensei 1K Blue also featured
  • SureFit Hosel for custom adjustments

GT1 Fairways: Dual-Weight Adjustability for Multiple Launch Profiles

The GT1 fairway metals introduce new Dual Performance Control Settings with forward-aft flat weights. In the stock setup, the heavier weight is in the rear, providing high MOI and easy launch.

Flip it forward to reduce spin and pick up a touch more speed. That means you can fine-tune the club to your liking or let your fitter decide which setup best suits your swing.

These fairways also carry the deepest CG in the GT lineup, giving you the height you need from tricky lies without losing that stable feel. With a shallower face profile, they’re built to glide through turf with ease.

“We found about 60 percent of testers preferred the heavier weight in the aft for extra stability, while 40 percent liked it forward,” says Tom Bennett, Principal Product Manager, Titleist Metalwoods. “Having both options is game-changing.”

Fairway Specs at a Glance

  • Available in lofts 15°, 18°, 21°, and 24°
  • Lightweight or standard build options
  • 11-gram/3-gram adjustable weights with various increments
  • SureFit Hosel to dial in your ideal trajectory

GT1 Hybrids: Higher MOI for Higher Flight

Rounding out the line, GT1 hybrids also boast forward-aft weight adjustability for greater control over launch and spin.

The deeper CG helps you hit towering shots without sacrificing accuracy. The face is longer from heel to toe compared to previous designs, so those less-than-perfect strikes still have a shot at reaching the green.

Perhaps most intriguing: the GT1 hybrids use a .335” tip section to accommodate a fairway shaft, which is softer and has a higher balance point.

This feature is aimed at increasing launch and lowering swingweight for the moderate-speed player.

If you prefer a more traditional hybrid feel, you can special-order it with a .370” tip section instead.

Hybrid Specs at a Glance

  • Loft options of 20°, 23°, 26°, and 29°
  • 138cc or 133cc head sizes, depending on loft
  • Choice of lightweight or standard build
  • SureFit Hosel and easy-swapping Dual Performance Control Weights
