Nestled on the shores of Grand Lake o’ the Cherokees, Shangri-La Resort boasts a draw not just for avid golfers but also for YouTube buffs.

The venue recently hosted “The Battlefield Shootout,” a one-of-a-kind golf clash featuring YouTube’s elite and a fresh PGA TOUR contender, all unfolding on the resort’s own par-3 jewel, The Battlefield.

This course, a Tom Clark masterpiece, rolls out a compact yet challenging 3,000 yards peppered with 100 feet of climbing terrain and ingeniously crafted holes that keep even the pros on their toes.

The Battlefield played backdrop to an exhilarating match between Brad Dalke and Quade Cummins—both University of Oklahoma legends—and their charismatic challengers, the BustaJack duo, Cole Lantz and Mason Nutt.

Fans of these YouTube sensations, who collectively command the attention of nearly 300,000 followers, were treated to a gripping 2 vs. 2 format match.

The event was not only a spectacle for live attendees but also for virtual spectators, with the match set to premiere in two parts on the respective YouTube channels of the participants, bringing this thrilling contest to screens worldwide.

Brad Dalke, a member of the highly popular YouTube group Good Good, which has amassed a following of 1.7 million, shared his excitement about the event. “Quade and I had an amazing time competing against BustaJack on what is probably the most amazing par-three course we’ve ever played,” Dalke said.

“The crowds and hospitality at Shangri-La Resort were second to none. We can’t wait to get back to this awesome lakefront resort.” Dalke added.

His sentiment was echoed by fans and fellow golfers alike, who were treated to top-tier hospitality and a chance to interact with their favourite golfing personalities at a lively welcome dinner prior to the tee-off.

The tightly contested match highlighted the exceptional shot-making the Battlefield course demands, with its scenic vistas and strategic play.

Who emerged victorious remains a mystery for now, reserved for viewers of the upcoming YouTube releases.

The winner’s name will be the first inscribed on the newly minted Battlefield Shootout trophy, a permanent fixture awaiting its place of honour within the clubhouse.

Adjacent to the Battlefield course lies the Legacy of Liberty Park, an immersive park that features WWII memorabilia and serves as a poignant reminder of the valor of Oklahoma veterans.

This setting not only enhances the resort’s allure but also serves as a splendid counterpoint to the modern-day golfing heroics witnessed on the course.

Ryan Snyder, Shangri-La’s PGA Director of Golf, captured the spirit of the event, stating, “The chance to showcase what a masterpiece and a unique challenge The Battlefield is to a whole new audience to is an awesome experience that our members, guests and whole community online we’ll be talking about for a long, long time,” Snyder said.

“We would love to turn this into an annual event and continue to showcase this beautiful engaging destination we have here in northeast Oklahoma, on the shores of the Grand Lake O’ the Cherokees.”
