Hébert Shines Bright as Swiss Challenge Dims Early

At the Swiss Challenge, nestled in the heart of Golf Saint Apollinaire’s lush greens, darkness descended like an uninvited dinner guest, cutting short the day’s play.

But before the lights went out, Benjamin Hébert, with the precision of a master chef, managed to whip up a couple of birdies to snag the lead.

You know, it’s not every day you see a golfer racing against nightfall, but Benjamin took it all in stride after a soggy start delayed the morning’s tee times by a whopping five hours.

When the action finally got going, our man didn’t waste a moment. He birdied his opening two holes, pushing to six under par, just nudging past Ben Stow, the overnight leader.

Now, with a cool 14 holes left in this round and a total of 32 to tackle tomorrow, Hébert isn’t just playing against the field—he’s playing against the clock.

“I’m very pleased right now,” he said. “It’s very hard to manage the tournament due to the long delay because of the weather.

“It’s been a long day, but I will try to get as much rest as I can and prepare for another tough day tomorrow.

“I have to take it shot by shot and keep my focus throughout. I will try to do my best because there is an important weekend coming up.”

His game plan? Keeping it simple: “Take it shot by shot and stay focused.” He’s looking down the barrel of a very important weekend, where every putt and drive counts.

Hot on his heels, we’ve got Robin Sciot-Siegrist, who trotted out a tidy three under par 69 to settle into third place.

Not far behind, the leaderboard’s buzzing with activity. Pierre Pineau, Scotland’s Euan Walker, Dane Martin Simonsen, and Norway’s Kristoffer Reitan are all stacking up, just a whisker away from the lead.

As we tee up for an 8:10 AM start tomorrow, it’s anyone’s game. With the players this close, it’s going to be a thrilling watch.

Will Hébert keep his lead, or will the chasing pack close in under the clearer skies of Folgensbourg?

Only time will tell, but one thing’s for sure—it’s going to be a spectacular day at the Swiss Challenge.
