The DP World Tour has unveiled its ‘Opening Swing’ for the 2025 season, bringing golf enthusiasts a tantalising line-up of five tournaments set in the scenic southern hemisphere.
The 2025 Race to Dubai tees off with the BMW Australian PGA Championship at Royal Queensland Golf Club in Brisbane, from November 21-24, 2024.
This event kicks off a back-to-back bonanza in Australia, co-sanctioned with the Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia.
The action continues with the ISPS Handa Australian Open, held at the iconic Kingston Heath Golf Club and Victoria Golf Club in Melbourne, from November 28 to December 1.
From the sun-drenched greens of Australia, the DP World Tour makes its way to South Africa for the much-anticipated return of the Nedbank Golf Challenge.
This tournament, honouring the legendary Gary Player, is set to unfold at the Gary Player Country Club in Sun City from December 5-8.
The Opening Swing Tour wraps up with two thrilling events co-sanctioned with the Sunshine Tour.
The first is the Alfred Dunhill Championship at Leopard Creek Country Club in Malelane, from December 12-15.
The grand finale, the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open, will take place at the stunning Mont Choisy Le Golf in Grand Baie, Mauritius, from December 19-22.
Introduced in 2024, the Opening Swing is the premier segment of the DP World Tour’s revamped global schedule, which is divided into five distinct Global Swings.
Each swing boasts its own unique identity and crowns its own champion, who gains exemptions into Rolex Series events and the second phase of the season, known as ‘The Back 9’.
Golfers will battle it out in ‘The Back 9’ events to earn spots in the season-ending DP World Tour Play-offs.
Stay tuned for the full 2025 DP World Tour global schedule, set to be announced later this year.
